Millwall Vs Qpr Match Report That Millwall Podcast Full time match report with Kia Bennett. Millwall secured back-to-back home wins on Tuesday night as Queens Park Rangers were defeated 2-0 in the Sky Bet Championship at The Den. The Lions deserved the three points in this London derby, with Mason Bennett scoring - for the third time in four home matches - to break the deadlock in the second-half, before Tyler Burey's first goal for Millwall secured the victory. Gary Rowett made one enforced change to his starting XI for the visit of The R's, as the injured Benik Afobe made way for Bennett, with Zak Lovelace taking his place on the bench. out.stream powered by ADITION With just 30 seconds played, The Lions could - and perhaps should - have taken the lead, but after good work down the left-hand side from Bennett saw a combination of Jed Wallace and Oliver Burke set up Danny McNamara, his effort from close-range was wild and flew over. At the other end, QPR made their first foray into the Millwall penalty area with five minutes on the clock, but Murray Wallace was able to deflect a Lyndon Dykes effort behind for a corner-kick - with the Scot then in action in front of the QPR goal 10 minutes later, but his long-range shot was cleared away by Rob Dickie. After Lee Wallace had to withdraw early for the visitors, another chance for The Lions fell the way of his namesake, #Jed, at the halfway point of the half, but after Billy Mitchell's clever pass found the attacker, his curling effort was pushed away from goal by the fingertips of David Marshall. Millwall had an early withdrawal of their own as Burke had to be replaced by Burey in the 28th minute, with Marshall having to tip a downwards header from Jake Cooper over the bar as he met Scott Malone's corner shortly after. The Scot then had to palm away a second Malone corner from his goal-line, before McNamara curled over from outside the box. Bartosz Bialkowski had to think quick with 10 minutes to go until the break, stopping Jimmy Dunne's attempts on goal after the ball fizzed around the area, before more sterling work from Bennett created a chance for Jed Wallace - one which he found the arms of Marshall with. Jed Wallace nodded at goal as the break approached - to no avail - before Murray Wallace had the final act of the first-half, heading at Marshall from a Malone free-kick. Three minutes into the second-half, however, The Lions were in front. As a cross-field pass was played by Jed Wallace to Malone, his first-time touch took the ball into the path of Bennett, who had no qualms in slotting past Marshall to open the scoring. Chris Willock could only strike tamely wide as Rangers looked to respond, but shortly after the hour-mark, the lead was doubled - and in some style. After Shaun Hutchinson intercepted the ball and charged upfield, his pass to Jed Wallace was flicked into the path of #Burey, who steadied himself before firing past Marshall for his first goal in a Millwall shirt. The deficit was nearly halved with 74 minutes played as a header looked to loop itself over Bialkowski, but Maikel Kieftenbeld was there to head off the line, with Bennett almost doubling his tally on 78 minutes as he struck from inside the box, but Marshall was equal to it. Bennett left the field to a standing ovation with just a minute to play, with substitute Charlie Austin's late effort drawing a comfortable save from Bialkowski in the last action of the game. #millwall M: Bialkowski, McNamara, M. Fulham Vs Millwall Full Time Match Report, with Kai and Alex.
Fulham Vs Millwall Full Time Match Report, with Kai and Alex.

Fulham Vs Millwall Full Time MatchReport, with Kai and Alex. #Fulham defeated #Millwall 3-0 in the Sky Bet #Championship at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night. Aleksandar #Mitrovic's double put Fulham two up, before substitute Bobby De Cordova-Reid added the gloss late on. Gary #Rowett made one change for the trip to West London, with Alex Pearce coming in for the injured Scott Malone. Luke Freeman, meanwhile, stepped up to the bench as he sought a Lions debut. The Lions started the brighter and fashioned a first chance with just two minutes on the clock, but after Oliver Burke's pace took him down the right-hand side, his deflected cross was dealt with by the Fulham defence. On six minutes, Millwall were presented with a big chance, but after Mason Bennett found the onrushing Maikel Kieftenbeld with a cross, the midfielder's shot went over the crossbar. Neco Williams, Neeskens Kebano and Benik Afobe all traded half-chances at either end as the half wore on, but on 29 minutes, the scoring was opened as Mitrovic had the simplest of tasks in firing home on the edge of the six-yard box after the ball had made its way across the box. The tricky Fabio Carvalho tried his luck shortly after as the home side looked to double their lead, with two more chances coming for The Whites before the break as Tim Ream headed over before Tom Cairney's effort in first-half stoppage-time failed to trouble Bartosz Bialkowski. The first chance of the second-half went to Millwall, but after skill from Murray Wallace allowed Shaun Hutchinson an effort, that attempt was blocked and cleared away. Just five minutes after the restart, however, Fulham - and Mitrovic - had their second after the striker pounced on a rebound following a smart Bialkowski save. Mitrovic and Bennett traded efforts as the half wore on, before the introduction of Jed Wallace breathed new life into Millwall, with the winger being at the thick end of Lions attacks, finding Afobe and Bennett, but neither could test Marek Rodak. At the other end, Bialkowski had to stop from Kebano and Wilson, before a double chance went begging for Millwall on 69 minutes as firstly, Burke found Jed Wallace, only for his shot to be saved by Rodak, before Bennett sent the follow-up wide of the post. Freeman stepped off the bench to make his debut with 13 minutes to play, but there was no further action until the 87th minute, as De Cordova-Reid was in the right place at the right time to tap home for Fulham's third. Fulham: Rodak, Kebano (De Cordova-Reid 76'), Wilson, Mitrovic (Muniz 90+1'), Cairney (Reed 71'), Chalobah, Ream, Adarabioyo, Williams, Carvalho, Robinson. Millwall Vs Preston North End Match Report.
Millwall Vs Preston North End Match Report.

#Millwall Vs #PrestonNorthEnd Match Report. Millwall and Preston North End played out a 0-0 draw in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday night. Gary Rowett opted for an unchanged starting XI for the visit of The Lilywhites, with two changes coming on the bench, as Jed Wallace and George Saville returned from injury. The first 15 minutes lacked action, but The Lions penetrated the Preston penalty area for the first time with 15 minutes on the clock, but Oliver Burke's low cross was cleared away before reaching Benik Afobe. out.stream powered by ADITION An intelligent pass from Murray Wallace saw Mason Bennett turn his marker before being hauled down by Sepp van den Berg - who was booked - before The Lions had a free-kick in a promising position with 19 minutes played, but Bennett's kick struck the wall before Burke's touch took the ball out of play. The game came to life shortly before the half-hour mark as a Scott Malone corner-kick was cleared out as far as Maikel Kieftenbeld on the edge of the area - the Dutchman unleashed a goal-bound effort on the volley, but a Preston body was there to deflect the ball behind. Bennett was then the next to strike from distance, but his attempt was comfortable for Daniel Iversen. North End's first shot of the night came from Emi Riis with 33 minutes played, but the attempt from outside the area was gathered by Bartosz Bialkowski. Danny McNamara's ball over the top set Afobe away as the second-half got underway, but the striker's first touch was heavy and allowed Iversen to rush out and smother any attempt on goal by the frontman. Bennett's effort from distance went wide just before the hour-mark in a night of little action in front of goal, with the double introduction of both Jed Wallace and Connor Mahoney injecting some life into The Lions on 61 minutes. However, three minutes later it was the visitors who could have taken the lead as Shaun Hutchinson pulled down Liam Lindsay inside the box, directing referee Kevin Friend to point to the spot. Ben Whiteman stepped up, but his spot-kick struck the post before bouncing to safety. Despite both teams huffing and puffing from there, further action in front of goal was limited - Murray Wallace clipping a right-footed cross across goal and wide with five minutes to play, before substitute Tyler Burey tried his luck on 88 minutes in the final true event of the evening. Millwall: Bialkowski, McNamara, M. Wallace, Hutchinson, Cooper, Kieftenbeld, Burke (J. Wallace 61'), Malone (Mahoney 61'), Bennett (Burey 78'), Afobe, B. Mitchell. Millwall Vs West Brom Match Report
Millwall Vs West Brom Match Report

#Millwall vs #westbromwichalbion full time #Matchreport Millwall recorded a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Sky Bet Championship at The Den on Saturday afternoon. Mason Bennett opened the scoring after 67 minutes with a finish from an acute angle, before Benik Afobe doubled the lead with a classy strike just nine minutes later. Gary Rowett made one change for the visit of The Baggies, as Oliver Burke came in for his home debut at the expense of George Evans, who dropped to the bench. The visitors started the afternoon on top and almost scrambled home the opening goal with just four minutes on the clock, but after a corner-kick failed to be clear, Bartosz Bialkowski managed to clutch the ball in amongst a batch of flying boots inside the six-yard box. Bialkowski then had to pull of an outstanding save from Baggies new boy Andy Carroll just a minute later, as the Pole got down quickly and well to parry the attacker's strike away from goal. Sloppy possession then led to Karlan Grant shaping to shoot, but his effort sailed over. After all four sides of the ground rose to their feet in memory of Isla Caton, Albion continued their charge on The Lions' penalty area, with Darnell Furlong's cross going across the face of goal without any telling touch, before Carroll fouled Danny McNamara on the far side to relieve the pressure. At the other end, Millwall's first chance of the game came on 12 minutes, but after patient build-up play saw McNamara cross to the back post, Scott Malone ballooned an effort over. McNamara's half-chance then went wide of the far post six minutes later, before the biggest chance to date went begging just after the midway point, as Benik Afobe was just unable to reach McNamara's cross, fashioned from Burke's smart pass on the halfway line. There were just over 30 minutes elapsed when determination from Bennett saw the ball deflect into the path of Afobe, but the striker could not control in what would have left him in a one-on-one situation with David Button, allowing the Albion defence to clear. Millwall had the first chance of the second-half, but after Burke's header set-up Afobe for a chance on goal, he sliced his effort over the crossbar. Burke then beat his man and looked set to score before a top save from Button kept Albion's sheet clean, before the loanee had another chance to open the scoring as he took down Malone's long pass, but his first touch took him away from goal. The opportunities kept coming for Millwall, with Maikel Kieftenbeld threading a pass through to Bennett with 56 minutes on the clock, but the close attentions of Cedric Kipre were enough to ensure that the frontman's effort failed to trouble Button. Shortly before the hour-mark, West Brom substitute Callum Robinson nearly made an instant impact as his deflected effort had to be tipped behind by Bialkowski, but with 67 minutes played, the deadlock was broken - by Millwall. As a Malone free-kick was sent in, the ball bobbled around, hitting the head of two, before dropping to Bennett at the far post, who made no mistake in firing home, despite the attempts to clear on the line. Nine minutes later, it was two - as Afobe chased down a lofted ball, he beat his marker before checking back onto his left foot and striking a stylish effort past Button to double the advantage. Afobe almost had a chance to notch a second - and Millwall's third - but his touch let him down as he sprung past the last line of The Baggies' defence, with The Lions seeing out the remainder of the game in no real trouble of conceding. Millwall: Bialkowski, McNamara, M. Wallace, Hutchinson, Cooper, Kieftenbeld, Burke (Burey 77'), Malone, Bennett, Afobe (Evans 89'), B. Mitchell. Subs not used: Long, Thompson, Pearce, Mahoney, Lovelace. Scorer: #Bennett 67', #Afobe 76' Booking: Bennett West Bromwich Albion: Button, Furlong, Townsend, Bartley, Livermore, Phillips (Diangana 59'), Carroll, Clarke, Grant (Robinson 59'), Kipre, Mowatt. Subs not used: Palmer, Ajayi, Molumby, Reach, Gardner-Hickman. Booking: Furlong Referee: Joshua Smith Attendance: 12,855 (1,708)
