March 9, 2013: Tri-City Storm vs. Muskegon Lumberjacks

It was the one and only meeting of the 2012-13 season Saturday, March 9 when the Tri-City Storm hosted the Muskegon Lumberjacks at the Viaero Event Center. The clash of East and West battled close early on, before the Storm's Austin Poganski got his team on the board with a wrapping goal just in front of the net. On this goal, Poganski, a future Storm player and North Dakota commit, scored his first career USHL point. Muskegon responded nicely in the 2nd period, scoring three unanswered goals and sucking some life from Tri-City. Then the Storm came roaring back to trail only 3-2 on goals by Michael Vecchione and Grant Opperman. Unfortunate penalties cost Tri-City and Muskegon took advantage, scoring three out of five power-play goals in the game and running away with a 6-3 victory.
