The 2019 NFL Draft is just two days away and we’ve almost made it through the offseason. No surprise, the latest NFL trade rumors and news are all surrounding the draft. The NFL Draft is always full of surprise picks, anxious fans and most definitely blockbuster trades. Tom Downey, host of NFL Daily, is here to break down 6 teams that should trade down in the 2019 NFL Draft. NFL Trade Rumors have been circulating that the New York Jets are interested in trading down but is there enough interest for a team to trade up to #3? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot of needs and not a lot of picks, making them an obvious choice to trade down. Here are a few other teams who could trade down in the 2019 NFL Draft: The Houston Texans need help in the trenches, could they trade with the Miami Dolphins for #13 overall? The Tennessee Titans could move down and still draft a much needed EDGE or WR. The Seattle Seahawks have been open about their desire to trade down, will the Oakland Raiders be calling John Schneider about moving up? The Baltimore Ravens lack a 2nd round draft pick, should they trade down and target a new receiver for Lamar Jackson? Here’s the complete list of the 6 NFL teams who could trade down in NFL Draft 2019: - New York Jets - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Miami Dolphins - Tennessee Titans - Seattle Seahawks - Baltimore Ravens SUBSCRIBE TO CHAT SPORTS ON YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/chatsportsTV?sub_confirmation=1 Tom can be contacted by email: tom@chatsports.com or on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/whatgoingdowney Download the Chat Sports app for iPhone or Android to follow NFL news, rumors, and scores: https://www.chatsports.com/app All our NFL shows can be watched live on the Chat Sports NFL facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/chatsportsnfl/ You can also subscribe to the NFL Daily video podcast on iPhone for free: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nfl-daily/id1292348153?mt=2 Follow Chat Sports on social media: https://www.facebook.com/chatsports https://www.twitter.com/chatsports https://www.instagram.com/chatsports
James Harden awoke to unfamiliar sounds outside his bedroom. For some reason, he could hear car horns blaring, engines running, the normal background noise of urban life…but he didn't live an urban life. His home in Houston was tucked far back into an exclusive suburban community where the slightest hint of loudness would attract a dozen noise complaints filed with the local police. When he opened his eyes, he found he had a bigger problem than just the unexpected sounds; his richly-furnished bedroom had been replaced with a concrete-walled, uncarpeted, undecorated hovel. His bed, normally appointed with a multitude of pillows and many layers of blankets, now had one simple white sheet atop a lumpy mattress. Just as he was beginning to try to make sense of this situation, he noticed something even more alarming: His beard was missing. The mass of hair that tickled his chin and constantly appeared in the periphery of his vision, conspicuously absent. Now starting to become anxious that he had been kidnapped and forcibly shaved by a terrorist organization of some kind, he went to check for his phone in case it had somehow been left with him. However, when he glimpsed his arm, he let out a gasp of surprise; it was no longer black, but a light brown color. Throwing off the sheets, he saw that the skin color of his arm was not an anomaly, for his entire body was the same shade. "Vikal, come get your breakfast!" yelled a female voice from another room. When James didn't immediately respond to the call, still being extremely confused about the present goings-on, the face of a woman appeared in the doorway. "Stop being lazy and get out of bed! And put on a shirt before coming to the table!" James was aware of a strange dichotomy; the words coming from the woman's mouth were clearly in a different language, but he had no problem understanding them. A hypothesis had formed in his mind, although it didn't offer a satisfactory explanation for his predicament: somehow, his consciousness had been transferred to the body of a young boy somewhere in southeast asia. He wasn't sure if he would be able to speak the language as seamlessly as he could understand it, however, so he obeyed the woman's (his mother's?) command silently, pulling on a loose pair of pants that was on the floor and opening a drawer (the one piece of furniture aside from the bed) to find a small selection of shirts from which to choose. Apparently Vikal had a bad habit of walking around the house only partially-clothed, so James pulled one on and followed the smell of food into the kitchen. The scolding did not stop when James sat down at the table. "Don't you remember how mad the manager was last time you were late? Do I need to remind you that we need that income to buy diapers for your sister?" This statement pierced through James' thoughts, which were all focused on what he might have done to cause this swapping of awarenesses and how he could reverse it. He nodded blankly at his mother, shocked that a boy as young as himself would be made to work a job. To keep up appearances (and to hide his surprise), he sampled the porridge in front of him, trying not to grimace at the unfamiliar flavor. His mom shooed him out the door when he was only half done with his food. James stood in the street, which was packed with foot traffic and the occasional worn-down car honking its way through the throng, unsure which direction he had to go. He thought about just running away somewhere to wait out this weirdness, but guilt over a sister he barely knew prevented him from doing that. "Vikal! Late too? Come on!" shouted a boy about his own age from across the street, somehow spotting Vikal through the mass of people. The boy started running down the street, so James made his way over to him so he could follow. After a few minutes of nimbly dodging between walkers to keep up, they got to a building which looked almost as run down as his house was. A rancid smell was wafting out of the open windows, making his eyes sting. Just inside the open door, James could see a dozen kids his age huddled around workbenches, applying glue and stitching to shoes. So this was his job. Working in a sweatshop to make shoes. On closer inspection, James could see the Adidas logo on some of the finished ones: the same company that he was signed to in his real life. Was that a coincidence? Had he tumbled into a cosmic karma experiment by virtue of using his basketball fame to sell shoes that were made by child labor? Sitting down at an empty seat and covertly watching his coworkers to get some idea of what he was supposed to be doing, James began to work on the shoes. As he smeared glue with his fingers on the precut soles, he suddenly remembered what he had been doing before this had all happened: he had been in his bedroom with an Instagram model whom he had successfully wooed. James wondered how Vikal was dealing with that situation.
Argentina 1-1 Iceland REPORT: Lionel Messi misses penalty in World Cup 2018 clash against minnows After his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s heroics the night before, the pressure was on Lionel Messi to deliver. But the Argentina superstar, entrusted with the task of leading his nation to success in what is likely to be his last World Cup, ultimately fell flat. Ronaldo had laid down the gauntlet to Messi with his stunning hat-trick in Portugal’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Spain in their World Cup opener. But Barcelona star and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi was unable to inspire his side in the way Ronaldo did, missing a penalty and failing to find a way past Iceland’s heroic battlers. Icleand, who humiliated England by knocking them out of Euro 2016, were at their collective and belligerent best here, putting their bodies on the line as Argentina threw everything at them, only to come up short. Messi – his penalty miss aside – did not play particularly badly, but met an immovable object in the stubborn shape of Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side, who proved here their Euro 2016 exploits were no fluke. Iceland, ranked 22nd in the world and making their World Cup debut, may not be a side for the football purists, with their rudimentary approach, but their formidable work ethic and collective spirit saw them earn a deserved draw. After an anxious opening for two-time winners Argentina, Jorge Sampaoli’s side settled down and began to play with fluency and purpose, with Iceland made to chase the ball. Messi probed in a bid to find a way through the Icelandic block in front of him, but it was Sergio Aguero who made the breakthrough in the 20th minute with his first World Cup goal. There seemed little danger when Aguero picked the ball up with his back to goal, but the Manchester City striker, as so many Premier League defenders will testify, is capable of conjuring something from nothing. Aguero performed a lighting quick turn, leaving Ragnar Sigurdsson trailing in his wake, and unleashed an unstoppable strike that flashed past Iceland keeper Hannes Halldorsson and into the net. It was a deserved lead for one of the tournament favourites, but one that asted just four minutes, Argentina’s uncertainty at the back undermining Aguero’s brilliance and gifting their opponents an equaliser. Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson drilled a ball into the six-yard box, which Willy Caballero was only able to palm into the path of the grateful Alfred Finnbogason, who reacted quickest to steer it into the net to level. With Caballero anxious throughout, Argentina always looked vulnerable at the back, with Gylfi Sigurdsson twice going close before the break, with Sampaoli’s side lucky to go in at 1-1. Argentina dominated after the break and should have gone ahead in the 64th minute when they won a penalty after Maxi Meza went down in the box following a shove from behind. Messi stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick but saw his poor effort saved by Halldorsson. Messi failed with a dipping free-kick and struggled to make his influence count thereafter, as Iceland. Argentina became increasingly desperate as the clock ticked down, substitute Cristian Pavon enraging Polish ref Szymon Marciniak for appealing for a penalty that was blatantly not justified. Messi did his best to drag his country to victory, playing with greater enterprise and purpose as the game ebbed away, but even he was unable to find a way to breach Iceland’s stubborn resistance. The 30-year-old went close with a curling effort that flew inches wide with nine minutes left, the miss summing up his frustrating afternoon. Iceland were indebted to spot-kick hero Halldorsson late on, when he dived at full-stretch to his left to keep out a goal-bound shot from Pavon, clipped on its way by Aguero, while Messi shot wide in added time. A nation of just 335,00 inhabitants, having stunned England at Euro 2016 and swept aside Croatia, Ukraine and Turkey on the road to Russia, did it again, this time against arguably the greatest player of all time. Argentina: Caballero 5, Salvio 6, Otamendi 6, Rojo 6, Tagliafico 6, Mascherano 7, Biglia 6 (Banega 53, 6), Meza 6 (Higuain 84, 5), Messi 7, Di Maria 5 (Pavon 75, 6), Aguero 7 Iceland: Halldorsson 8 MOTM, Magnusson 7, R Sigurdsson 7, Arnason 7, Saevarsson 7, Hallfredsson 7, Gunnarsson 7 (Skulason 76, 5), Bjarnason 7, G Sigurdsson 7, Gudmundsson 6 (Gislason 63, 6), Finnbogasan 7 (Sigurdarson 89) Man of the match: Halldorsson 8 Sergio Agüero 19' Lionel Messi 63' Alfred Finnbogason 23'
“Cheerio Michael - and one or two others" "Having accomplished his target of finishing second to runaway champions Manchester City,it looked inevitable that Jose Mourinho's much-changed side would end the Premiership campaign on a low key. And that's exactly how it turned out. On a day when club captain Michael Carrick bowed out after a magnificent career ,- justifiably earning a standing ovation in the final minutes- there will be one or two others anxiously awaiting news of their futures -Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and, almost certainly, Luke Shaw amongst them. None of the above will feature in next Saturday's Cup Final and will learn their fate shortly afterwards . In a classic end -of-season encounter, a Marcus Rashford tap-in clinched all three points to leave United on 81 - still 19 behind the record-breaking Blues. The superb long ball over the Watford defence was delivered with pin- point accuracy by Carrick to the feet of Juan Mata who squared to the young England striker who couldn't miss. But any thoughts of a last day goal bonanza similar to those taking place at Anfield and Wembley were quickly abandoned as a lethargic performance, similar to a number of others in recent weeks, left most of the crowd feeling short-changed as the curtain came down on a campaign that promised so much but in the end delivered so little. Indeed it needed a couple of smart saves from Sergio Romero to keep the Hornets at bay. So its Chelsea standing in the way of a second F A Cup win in three seasons and a fervent hope that Lukaku's ankle injury will not force the giant Belgian to sit out the big day at the Venue of Legends." OAKLAND — Stephen Curry wanted to play in Game 1, but Steve Kerr erred on caution’s side, reserving the two-time MVP for Tuesday night. With all of the pent-up anticipation, Curry anxiously sat the first 7:40 of Golden State’s 121-116 win over the Pelicans before checking into the scorer’s table. “It was an eternity it felt like, for sure,” Curry said. “When the lights come back on with the starting lineups, you are usually in that kind of mind-frame. I had to pace myself and be patient with it. It seemed like it took forever, but it was a good feeling to get back out on the floor and let loose and have fun.” Curry had only started a game on the bench six times in his career. Kerr chose to start Nick Young for the second straight game because he wanted to keep the lineup intact from a 22-point victory in Game 1. Kerr said he liked the idea of substituting Curry for Klay Thompson late in the first quarter. With 4:20 remaining in the first quarter, Curry removed his shooting shirt and ambled to the scorer’s table. Oracle Arena burst into delirium, showering him with cheers before he even entered the game. “That was a special moment when Steph checked into the game,” Kerr said. “(It is) always fun to hear our home crowd. Steph has worked really hard over the last six weeks to prepare for this, and I love the ovation he got.” Only time would tell if we would see the same dazzling, gun-slinging Curry, who hadn’t played since March 23 due to a Grade 2 left MCL sprain. It took 11 seconds to find out. On his first offensive possession, Curry caught a Draymond Green pass and fired a 29-footer. Swoosh. All normalcy was restored. Curry went on to score 11 points in fewer than seven minutes. “It was kind of electric in there,” Green said. “And then he hit that three that fast. It brought a lot of life to the building, a lot of life to our team and spirit. It’s pretty fitting, for sure.” Curry exploded for 28 points in only 27 minutes Tuesday night. The Warriors outscored the Pelicans by 26 points with Curry in the game. The superstar point guard's return came at the most ideal time as Golden State tried to fend off a desperate Pelicans attack. They were crushed in Game 1. It seemed highly unlikely Game 2 would produce a similarly lopsided result, even with Curry back in action. “We had a feeling New Orleans was going to come after us pretty hard” Kerr said. “So, (it was) perfect timing that he came in, slow first quarter for us, and everything changed as soon as he walked onto the floor.” As Tuesday night showed, Curry impacts games whether he scores or not. After his opening three-pointer, Curry attracted a double team on the following possesion. He passed out of it to the cutting Green, who dished to Durant, who found Kevon Looney for an open dunk. The gravitational pull Curry creates is enough to give his teammates, who happen to be some of the world’s best shooters, consistent open looks. Without Curry, Golden State may still be the best team in the world. But its offense is more predicated on Durant, Green, and Thompson creating, rather than benefiting from rapid ball movement whenever Curry is on the floor. Tuesday night was the first time in about two months that the Warriors have had all four All-Stars healthy. Golden State limped to a 7-10 finish in the regular season, largely due to all of the injuries. But the Warriors have won six out of seven playoff games during their current run, including Tuesday night’s win that extended their Western Conference Semifinals series lead over the Pelicans to 2-0. Golden State is clicking on all cylinders, poised to defend its throne behind Curry, who looked as fresh as ever Tuesday night. “It felt great," Curry said. "(I was) real eager as of late trying to get back out there to be with my teammates and do what I love to do. To get back out there on the floor, play some playoff basketball, and get a big win tonight, it was huge.”
Reebok just got a lot more posh! After first announcing the partnership in November 2017, the inconic activewear brand celebrated Victoria Beckham’s new ‘90s-inspired edit and forthcoming capsule collection with an intimate dinner in L.A. on Thursday, April 12. And as if that weren’t enough, NBA great and longtime Reebok ambassador Shaquille O’Neal was on hand to welcome Beckham to the athletic company’s family and star in some pretty hilarious campaign images with the former Spice Girl. While the mom of four has a line of athleisure launching with Reebok later this year, she just announced she has curated a set of merchandise from the brand’s Boston-based archives that will be available for purchase next month. A ‘90s darling herself, Posh was particularly taken with the nostalgic styles from that era. The hero piece in the edit will be the Shaq-inspired slam dunk tee both Beckham and the baller were sporting at the dinner. Victoria Beckham Is Wearing Heels Again and Each Pair Is as Colorful as the Last “I had so much fun tonight, being welcomed into the Reebok family, by Shaq,” the designer said in a statement. “The merch collection is really a celebration of him, the 90’s and Reebok’s heritage.” Meghan Markle Re-Wears Her Fave Victoria Beckham Sweater in Her Most Elegant Day Look Yet On Instagram, Victoria teased the launch with a series of funny photos highlighting the massive height difference between herself and the former Laker. We know that Posh loves a pair of heels, but at 5 foot 4 inches, even the highest pair of Louboutins wouldn’t get her anywhere near Shaq’s 7-foot-1-inch frame. And just when you thought the collaboration couldn’t get any cuter, Victoria posted a Boomerang video of her and Shaq playing around on the basketball court proving that we all get by with a little help from our friends. Hair Guru Ken Paves Dishes on Eva Longoria’s Pregnancy Hair and Victoria Beckham’s New Haircut It remains to be seen if Posh and Shaq will continue to collaborate beyond this ‘90s edit, but we can’t get enough of the pairing. The black and white tee and other merchandise inspired by Reebok’s ‘90s archive will debut next month, and we’ll be anxiously awaiting the arrival of Victoria’s original designs for the brand later this year!
