Dia masuk ke lapangan buat nggantiin pemain debutan, Tom Lawrence. Tapi dia belum selesai. Dia masuk bukan cuma buat dadah-dadah perpisahan, karena di menit ke-87, Giggs melihat pergerakan Robin van Persie dan melepaskan umpan akurat buat gol pengunci kemenangan. Dia mengakhiri kariernya dengan sebuah assist buat buktiin kalau dia tetep bosnya, baik di dalem maupun di luar lapangan.
