Portugal head coach Fernando Santos defended Cristiano Ronaldo after the 'Selecao' captain reacted furiously when he was denied what would have been a late winning goal in the World Cup qualifier against Serbia on 27th March, which finished in a 2-2 draw instead. He also told me that on the pitch, about not having the goalline technology. He said it was important to have it. Dominic Calvert-Lewin says he is "very happy" to have scored twice in England's 5-0 World Cup qualifier win over San Marino. The striker added he was very happy for teammate Ollie Watkins, who scored on his debut to complete the victory. Reaction following Sweden's 1-0 win over Georgia in their opening Group B qualifier for the 2022 UEFA World Cup. The match marked the international return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, back in the yellow and blue of Sweden for the first time since Euro 2016. Although the 39-year-old AC Milan striker failed to add to his tally of 62 international goals before being replaced by Robin Quaison in the 84th minute, he did provide the assist for Viktor Claesson to score the only goal in the 35th minute.
