It was all Fazalhaq Farooqi in the initial stages as he picked up 4-wickets. This was their game to lose and they couldn't handle the lower-order of the hosts resulting in a 4-wickets loss. Mehidy Hasan and Afif Hossain's unbroken seventh wicket stand of 174-runs was the climax of the game. But the second ODI was completely dominated by Bangladesh as they crush aside the visitors by a comfortable margin of 88-runs. The senior pros of Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim played exceedingly well as they posted 306/4 in the 50-overs. The former scored a brilliant century while the latter ended 14-runs short of what would have been a cracking hundred. Since all the three ODI's are taking place at the same venue both the teams will have a fair idea about the surface and will field a balanced eleven for sure. Batting first looks like a good choice because in both the games chasing has been very difficult. Though the first game was won by a chasing side, it was only because of Bangladesh's brilliant lower-order batting display as they were in a deep trouble at one stage. So it should be ideal for a captain to bat first if they win the toss. Afghan might go with the same playing XI but Bangladesh might think of giving opportunities to the players who are there in the waiting list as they have already sealed the series.

Both these teams haven't had the best of tournaments so far having won just two of their six matches so far. Both teams still have a theoretical chance of going through to the next four but it certainly looks very bleak.
