#India #Sri Lanka - #2ndT20I #SriLankatourofIndia 2022 After a stellar performance in the shortest format throughout the season, team India will aim to whitewash another team in their home conditions after they won the first game in convincing fashion. Sri Lanka at the other hand will try to make a big comeback and try to keep the series alive for the decider that is to be played tomorrow. Some injury concerns for team India continue as it has been reported that Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the series and will undergo a rehab at NCA. Mayank Agarwal has been named as his replacement for the remaining two games. India had a terrific game at Lucknow. First up with the bat as skipper Rohit Sharma and his new opening partner Ishan Kishan made merry of the conditions and also took lots of doubles and triples as the ground dimensions were a bit larger, putting the fielding team under tremendous pressure. Thanks to a quickfire knock from Shreyas Iyer at the end, India put up a massive total of 199 runs in their 20 overs. The bowlers then took over and allowed Rohit Sharma to experiment with the bowling attack which included using Venkatesh Iyer at the death and also allowed a smooth comeback for Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja at the international arena. The only positives for the Sri Lanka team were the fighting knocks from Charith Asalanka who scored a patient half century, holding one end batting at number 4. Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera also fluently played his strokes batting lower down the order and scored his highest T20 score. Only Ravindra Jadeja bowled his full quota of four overs as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer picked up a couple of wickets each with Jadeja, and Yuzvendra Chahal chipping in with a wicket apiece. Vice captain Jasprit Bumrah, debutant Deepak Hooda and Harshal Patel (2 overs) went wicketless and Venkatesh finished his spell on the expensive side as he was taken to the cleaners in the death overs when Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were relieved off their bowling duties. Toss and the pitch report coming up and live action to follow.
