Original Raw Network footage (no breaks to commercials,titles/graphics,etc) of the original KC Royals KBMA Broadcast with Steve Shannon and Dave Nelson from Exhibition Stadium...(mic turned off between innings.) Recorded and Digitalized off two VHS to DVD discs for most complete and best quality and pretty sure this game making its debut on Youtube for archival purposes like all games posted I've had the game on a DVD (2 versions) for 20+ years now remastered and cleaned up. Tom Underwood vs Paul Splittorff Tom Underwood pitches a complete game allowing only two hits including Hal McRae's 6th HR of the season in the third. Blue Jay catcher Rick Cerone game winning hit in the 9th giving Toronto its first win against KC for 1979 and ending the season series. Note how quick this game goes by a well pitched ballgame for both teams will do that..and no BS like todays game just pure baseball Boxscore https://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1979/B08070TOR1979.htm
From ABC Monday night baseball original broadcast Mets at Phillies from the Vet with ABC cutaways to the Reds at Braves game where Pete Rose in pursuit of the consecutive game hitting streak to tie Wee Willie Keeler as we go live to all of Rose's at bats including #44 consecutive game steak hit off Braves starter Phil Niekro in the sixth. Also cutaway to the White Sox and Red Sox game from Fenway. Nino Espinosa vs Dick Ruthven HR by Bob Boone turned out to be the game winner despite a well pitched game from Espinosa as Ruthven pitches a complete game and gets the win. Please Note: Just a heads up the footage ends during the bottom of the 8th inning after a play at the plate collision at home with Hebner and Stearns. 9th inning footage just doesn't exist..tape probably ended in original recording. Also some video break down in the third inning but returns back in the top of 4th just hang in there..this is what was on the original VHS it is what it is, out of my control did the best I could with digitalizing/remastering with some color corrections and frame rate corrections. and surround audio track Any questions about how the game ended please just check the boxscore Boxscore https://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1978/B07310PHI1978.htm
