As Gooden goes nine innings keeping the Reds scoring two runs over eleven hits as Randy Myers comes in the 9th reliving Gooden and allows the sixth HR for Chris Sabo the hitting star for the Reds to give the Reds the lead until Darryl Strawberry's (with four RBI's) including the walk off two run HR in the bottom of the tenth and wins New York in dramatic fashion. Another marathon game out from the archives and a great game between the soon to be NLCS teams in the National League. Original KTXH Vision20 Broadcast with Milo Hamilton and Larry Dierker from the Houston Astrodome, taken off original pre recorded VHS tapes which was later transferred to DVD (2002) and now restored and digitalized and making its debut on youtube. Classic game between the two rivals as the starters Sid Fernandez and Jim Deshaies take the mound as almost all pitchers from both clubs appear in this 15 inning game as Houston is ahead in the western division with San Francisco right behind them as New York keeps taking a comanding in the NL East. Houston takes the lead in this game and the Mets come right back to tie the game throughout. Astros manager Hal Lanier gets ejected..soon comes down to the wire in the 15th and ends on a close play at the plate. Original VHS tape was not viewed in years and a new Digitalized restored (best I could) with the low and some damage cassette tape(s)..just a archive for the 1986 season and its not the greatest game quality wise in my archives but its now at least out there for all Mets '86 & MLB fans. Wally Backman goes 3 for 4 and some key Homer's by George Foster and Darryl Strawberry. One of the longest 9 inning games for the Mets for 1986 season.
