The game was slated as a quarterback matchup for the ages, with two of the top NFL prospects in the nation facing off in USC's Sam Darnold and UCLA's Josh Rosen. Rosen outdueled Darnold statistically as Rosen tallied a 32/52, 421 yds and 3 TDs, but Darnold's USC took home the victory (and the Victory Bell). Darnold finished 17/28, 264 yds and 1 rushing TD. USC redshirt sophomore quarterback Sam Darnold spoke about the Trojans' success in their 28-23 victory over crosstown rival UCLA and what the future may hold in store for his career. USC vs Stanford Football 2017 Highlights and Sound
No. 6 USC defeated No. 14 Stanford at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday for its first ever win over the Cardinal at home in the month of September. In the win, USC quarterback Sam Darnold registered 4 TDs, 316 passing yds and 2 INTs on 21/26. On the ground for USC, true freshman Stephen Carr led the way with 119 yds on 11 carries. Junior Ronald Jones II provided more than ample support, carrying the ball 23 times for 116 yds and 2 TDs, both shown in the highlights above. For Stanford, the first half was dominated by running back Bryce Love, who accounted for a monstrous 141 yds in the opening half, but finished with just 160 and 1 TD. Quarterback Keller Chryst threw for 172 yds and 2 TDs on 15/28. With the win, USC moved up 2 spots in the AP ranking to number 4. Next for USC is a home rematch of the 2006 Rose Bowl against Texas on Saturday, Sept. 16. Stephen Carr on USC Football's win vs. Stanford
USC freshman running back Stephen Carr spoke after a 42-24 win over No. 14 Stanford Saturday about his ability to break free in the open field and create spectacular runs. When asked what he thought about himself and Ronald Jones, who had 116 yds and 2 TDs on the night, gathering comparisons to legendary USC backfield composed of Reggie Bush and LenDale White, Carr simply said he doesn't know but he just knows it's "Stephen Carr and Ronald Jones." Iman Marshall Talks USC Against the World After Stanford
USC cornerback Iman Marshall spoke with TrojanSports.com's Connor McGlynn following a 42-24 win over No. 14 Stanford.
