Tri-City Storm defenseman Mitchell Miller has been named the USHL’s Defenseman of the Week for the first time this season and the fifth time in his USHL career. Miller notched his first career USHL hat trick in the Storm’s 8-3 home victory over the Lincoln Stars on Sunday. He scored two goals in Tri-City’s 8-0 shutout of the Stars on Saturday. Miller currently leads all USHL defensemen this season in Goals (23), Points (55), Game-Winning Goals (7), Plus/Minus Rating (+28), Points-Per-Game (1.25), and Shots on Goal (187). The longest winning streak in the history of the Tri-City Storm organization was snapped in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Steel at the Fox Valley Ice Arena on Sunday. Josh Eernisse, Mitchell Miller, and Cole O’Hara scored goals for the Storm in the loss. Tri-City notched one point in the standings and is now one point away from tying the organization’s record for longest point streak. The Storm fell to 29-5-2-0 in the loss. Tri-City now holds a 15 point lead over the Omaha Lancers for 1st place in the USHL’s Western Conference standings. The Tri-City Storm tied an organizational record by winning ten consecutive games in Friday's 4-2 victory over the Lincoln Stars in Game #2 of the 2022 USHL Frosty Cup. The Storm swept the Stars in back-to-back games to improve to 5-0-0-0 against Lincoln this season. Ilya Nikolaev scored the game-winning goal with under four minutes to play in Friday’s 3rd period. Arsenii Sergeev collected his league-leading 22nd win in goal for the Storm in the victory. The 2021-2022 Tri-City Storm team joined the 2003-2004 Anderson Cup Championship team and the 2014-2015 team as the only teams in organization history to win ten consecutive games during a single season. The Tri-City Storm defeated the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 3-2 in overtime Thursday night, January 27th, in the opening game of the 2022 USHL Frosty Cup. Ilya Nikolaev netted the game-winning goal to give the Storm nine consecutive victories. Mitchell Miller and Victor Czerneckianair also scored goals in the win for Tri-City. Goaltender Arsenii Sergeev stopped a season-high 44 shots on goal to record his league-leading 21st victory of the year, improving his record to 21-3-0-0 in net for the Storm. Tri-City won its sixth consecutive game and posted a two-game weekend sweep over Fargo and Omaha. Aiden Dubinsky, Mitchell Miller, Kieran Cebrian, and Cole O’Hara netted goals for the Storm in the victory. Arsenii Sergeev notched his league-leading 20th win of the season in goal for the Storm. The Tri-City Storm posted a 3-0 shutout against the Sioux City Musketeers Friday at the Viaero Center to improve to 18-4-1-0 on the season. Arsenii Sergeev recorded his league-leading fourth shutout in the victory, he now leads the USHL in Wins (14), Goals Against Average (1.47), Save Percentage (.940%), and shutouts (4) after Friday’s performance. Cole O’Hara, Kieran Cebrian, and Dane Dowiak netted goals for the Storm in the win.
