The Tri-City Storm defeated the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 3-2 in overtime Thursday night, January 27th, in the opening game of the 2022 USHL Frosty Cup. Ilya Nikolaev netted the game-winning goal to give the Storm nine consecutive victories. Mitchell Miller and Victor Czerneckianair also scored goals in the win for Tri-City. Goaltender Arsenii Sergeev stopped a season-high 44 shots on goal to record his league-leading 21st victory of the year, improving his record to 21-3-0-0 in net for the Storm. Tri-City improved to 27-5-1-0 in the victory and now holds a nine-point lead over the Chicago Steel for 1st place in the league standings.
