WATCH: Shreyas Gopal bags maiden hat-trick in IPL, becomes 2nd bowler to achieve feat this season

#Shreyas#Gopal#bags#maiden#hat-trick#in #IPL,#becomes#2nd#bowler#to#achieve #feat#this#season Shreyas Gopal bagged his maiden hat-trick in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He became the second bowler after Sam Curran to take a hat-trick this season. The leg-spinner picked up important wickets of AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Marcus Stoinis to halt RCB's rampaging start after the hosts were off to a flyer with Kohli and AB garnering 23 runs off the first over.  The rain-affected fixture saw a late start as the match was reduced to a five-over a side clash after a delay of almost 3.5 hours due to heavy downpour in Bengaluru. Kohli and AB got off to a sensational start as the RCB skipper went after Varun Aaron right from the first delivery tonking him for a six. He slammed another six of the next delivery before AB got two boundaries to finish the over with 23 runs from it Kohli continued his blitzkrieg against Gopal in the second over as he lofted a flighted first delivery into the stands for a six before getting a boundary off the next ball. Kohli then took a couple of the next ball before Gopal got him caught by Liam Livingstone trying to hit a six. Gopal dismissed Kohli for the second time in this season.  On the next delivery, AB was caught by Riyan Parag before Marcus Stoinis was caught on a duck by Steve Smith as Gopal became the fourth Rajasthan Royals bowler to bag a hat-trick in the IPL.  RCB batting line-up suffered a spectacular collapse after Gopal's hat-trick as the hosts lost 4 wickets inside 26 runs to be restricted on 62/7 in five overs. While Gopal picked up three wickets, Oshane Thomas bagged a couple of wickets for the Royals. Sanju Samson and Liam Livingstone got Rajasthan off to a flyer with a 41-run stand in 20 balls before Samson was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.

Watch- Steve Smith in disbelief as Riyan Parag suffers bizarre dismissal in KKR vs RR clash

#Steve#Smith#in#disbelief#as#Riyan#Parag#suffers#bizarre#dismissal#in#KKR#vs #RR#clash Riyan Parag played a crucial knock on Thursday to help Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets at the Eden Gardens. The 17-year-old came of age to almost single-handedly take his side through under pressure. When the other senior batsmen in the side failed to deliver as the Royals kept losing wickets on regular intervals in the 176-run chase it was Parag who absorbed pressure and showed great composure to showcase his brilliance with the bat.  RR were reeling on 78/4 with the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson all back in the hut when Parag came in to bat. He added two partnerships of 20 and 25 runs respectively with Stuart Binny and Shreyas Gopal before combining with Jofra Archer (27) to add another 44 runs for the seventh wicket to set up the chase for his side.  However, Parag's innings ended in a dramatic manner after he was dismissed hit wicket as his bat hit the stumps while trying to play a shot of Andre Russell's bowling. The unlucky dismissal left Rajasthan skipper Smith in disbelief as he couldn't believe what happened. Parag was dismissed off the penultimate ball of the 19th over with Rajasthan requiring 9 runs to win off seven balls.

#Shreyas#Gopal#joins#Ashish#Nehra #in #elite #list a#fter#dismissing #RCB #stalwarts #Virat #Kohli, #AB de Villiers Shreyas Gopal starred in Rajasthan Royals' first win in IPL 2019 as they defeated a sloppy Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday. Gopal finished with a spectacular 3/12 in four overs to fold RCB for 158/4 at the end of 20 overs which included the dismissals of the two big guns Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. And with those two crucial wickets, Gopal joined Ashish Nehra in an elite list. The two batting stalwarts have been dismissed by the same bowler in an IPL inning 19 times. In fact, earlier this season, in the IPL 2019 opener between Chennai Super Kings and RCB, offie Harbhajan Singh had got the better of two batters in Chepauk. Well, with the two dismissals on Tuesday, Gopal emulated his 2018 heroics for the second time in IPL to become the second bowler after Nehra to achieve it. Gopal had dismissed Kohli and AB at the same venue last season, while he dismissed the South African in Bengaluru in their first meeting in 2018.

The thrilling encounter went down the wire and the outcome was ultimately decided in a Super Over after the contest ended in a tie. A clip from the match is now going viral on social media with the fans suspecting something fishy as DC wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was caught on the stump mic making a bizarre prediction. The incident happened during the fourth over of KKR's innings at the Kotla when Robin Uthappa was facing Sandeep Lamichhane when Pant can be heard on the stump mic saying, "yeh to waise bhi chauka hai." The very next ball, Uthappa gets a boundary. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media with fans claiming the match between the two sides was 'fixed.' The match was a close affair as KKR posted a staggering total of 185/8 batting first before Delhi did enough to tie the game. Prithvi Shaw missed his maiden IPL century by a whisker as he slammed 99 off 55 deliveries to lay the platform for a win for Delhi. He found support from skipper Shreyas Iyer, who scored 43 off 32 balls.  The duo took the game away from the visitors and it looked like Delhi will easily win the match but Kuldeep Yadav stepped up to defend six runs in the last over and take the game into a Super Over. In the Super over, Kagiso Rabad stole the show by defending 11 runs against the likes of Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa after DC batsmen could only post 10 runs in the match-deciding over.

#BBL #2018-#19: #Dwayne #Bravo #run out for a diamond duck against #Sydney Sixers -The last league game of the Big Bash League saw some exciting cricket between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Chasing the Stars score of 168, the Sixers were bowled out for 74 as a combined effort from the Stars bowlers made things different for the Sixers batsmen. Nepal spinner Sandip Lamicchane picked up three wickets for just 11 runs as other bowlers came into the party as well. But the real moment of the match was when Dwayne Bravo, the Stars all-rounder found one of the most bizarre ways to run himself out. It was the 17th over in the match when Sixers spinner Nathan Lyon was bowling to Glenn Maxwell who hit the ball to the mid - on area and called for two runs straightaway. Bravo slipped while going for the second run as his spikes were trapped in the ground. He tried his best to make the ground but found himself short. As far as the game is concerned, skipper Glenn Maxwell's 82 took the Stars to 168 at the end of their 20 overs. He was helped from the other end by Marcus Stoinis(34) and Peter Handscomb (35).  The Sixers, had a batting collapse as they were bowled out for a paltry 74 chasing the target. Melbourne and Sydney both have made it to the knockouts despite the loss of the later in the game. Along with them, Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Renegades are the other two teams to reach the

Longest decision ever? Shoaib Malik's run-out against South Africa leaves 3rd umpire confused The role of a third umpire came under the scanner in the third T20I between Pakistan and South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. The third umpire took incredibly long to dish out the final decision after a mix-up between Pakistan batsmen Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat, which eventually resulted into a run-out. Meanwhile, it appeared as if Malik already knew he was out but he too had to wait for the final decision The incident happened in the 12th over of the Pakistan innings when Malik flicked the ball from spinner Tabraiz Shamsi straight to Andile Phehlukwayo on the leg side. He was quick to run for a single but never looked sure about the call as Talat eventually had to run in the same direction to save himself from getting dismissed. In the process, both the batsmen ended up running in the same direction trying to outrun each other but it was Malik who fell short at the end.

MS Dhoni's unique defence during India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I will remind you of your childhood day
MS Dhoni's unique defence during India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I will remind you of your childhood day

#MS #Dhoni's #unique #defence #during #India #vs #New Zealand #2nd #T20I will remind you of your #childhood days - MS Dhoni has been in brilliant form since coming back to the Indian side after brief time-off. Dhoni won the Man of the Series in the ODI series against Australia as the veteran batter scored 193 runs in three matches at a staggering average of 193.00. The former Indian skipper took the Men in Blue over the finishing line in the final two ODIs to help India come back into the series and win it after losing the first ODI by 34 runs.  Since his return, Dhoni has been hitting the headlines with his batting and wicket-keeping as the veteran continues to guide the Indian bowlers to scalp crucial wickets at important stages of matches. However, Dhoni was spotted doing something unusual during the second T20I between India and New Zealand. The 37-year-old didn’t take much time to settle after coming into the crease following Vijay Shankar’s dismissal in 14th over. The incident happened in the fifth delivery of the 16th over when Ish Sodhi was bowling to Dhoni. The veteran batsman, who was looking calm and composed in middle, decided to step out while looking for a big shot in the over. However, Sodhi fired it flat and wide outside the off-stump. Dhoni, using his clever cricketing brain, realised that the ball is out of reach and tucked the ball towards point in the most unorthodox ways, which certainly will remind many cricket fans of their childhood days. Meanwhile, India leveled the three-match T20I series 1-1 after defeating New Zealand by seven wickets in the second T20I at the Eden Park in Auckland. India will look to seal the series on Sunday as they gear up to lock horns with the Kiwis in the third and final T20I at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.
