#Shreyas#Gopal#bags#maiden#hat-trick#in #IPL,#becomes#2nd#bowler#to#achieve #feat#this#season Shreyas Gopal bagged his maiden hat-trick in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He became the second bowler after Sam Curran to take a hat-trick this season. The leg-spinner picked up important wickets of AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Marcus Stoinis to halt RCB's rampaging start after the hosts were off to a flyer with Kohli and AB garnering 23 runs off the first over.  The rain-affected fixture saw a late start as the match was reduced to a five-over a side clash after a delay of almost 3.5 hours due to heavy downpour in Bengaluru. Kohli and AB got off to a sensational start as the RCB skipper went after Varun Aaron right from the first delivery tonking him for a six. He slammed another six of the next delivery before AB got two boundaries to finish the over with 23 runs from it Kohli continued his blitzkrieg against Gopal in the second over as he lofted a flighted first delivery into the stands for a six before getting a boundary off the next ball. Kohli then took a couple of the next ball before Gopal got him caught by Liam Livingstone trying to hit a six. Gopal dismissed Kohli for the second time in this season.  On the next delivery, AB was caught by Riyan Parag before Marcus Stoinis was caught on a duck by Steve Smith as Gopal became the fourth Rajasthan Royals bowler to bag a hat-trick in the IPL.  RCB batting line-up suffered a spectacular collapse after Gopal's hat-trick as the hosts lost 4 wickets inside 26 runs to be restricted on 62/7 in five overs. While Gopal picked up three wickets, Oshane Thomas bagged a couple of wickets for the Royals. Sanju Samson and Liam Livingstone got Rajasthan off to a flyer with a 41-run stand in 20 balls before Samson was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.

South Africa locked horns with New Zealand in a must-win encounter in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. The Proteas are staring at early elimination as they are currently placed eighth on the table with just three points from five games.  South Africa would have expected to get off to a good start after being invited to bat first by New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, however, Boult struck in his very first over to send De Kock packing with a brilliant delivery. De Kock wanted to play across the line before he realised it was a fullish delivery and decided to defend it but it was too late as the ball nipped back in and took a slight edge of the bat before uprooting the leg stump

#Adil#Rashid#pulls#off#an#MS#Dhoni #during#England#vs#Pakistan#5th#ODI #with#perfect#no-look#run-out England spinner Adil Rashid pulled off an MS Dhoni during the 5th ODI against Pakistan in Leeds on Sunday. The spinner did a brilliant no-look run out to dismiss star batsman Babar Azam - reminding fans of the no-look run out from Dhoni in 2016 to send New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor packing. England registered their fourth straight win over Pakistan on Sunday to clinch the five-match series 4-0. The incident happened in the 27th over of the Pakistan innings, when the visitors were chasing a mighty target of 352 runs. Babar was batting on 80 off 83 balls with skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed on the other end. Sarfaraz pushed one on the leg side and was looking to take a single before deciding against it. However, Babar, by then, had reached the middle of the pitch as Jos Buttler quickly collected the ball and threw it towards Ali. Before Babar could reach back, Rashid plucked the ball and executed a perfect no-look run out. The dismissal turned the game in England's favour as Pakistan were looking on course towards the target with Babar in splendid touch.

The MS Dhoni-led side prevailed over DC by six wickets in the do-or-die clash on Friday to make it to their eighth final in ten seasons in the IPL. It was a one-sided affair between the two sides in Vizag but the game saw some exciting moments as both sides gave their best on the pitch.  After DC managed to reach close to the 150-run mark and posted a challenging total on the board, CSK openers got off to a wobbly start and almost gave away a breakthrough to Shreyas Iyer-led side in the very first over after a terrible mix-up. The incident happened on the 3rd ball of the first over when Faf du Plessis struck one at point off Colin Munro. Both him and Watson were stuck in the middle as Axar Patel quickly collected the ball and threw it to the bowling end while missing the stumps.

Bat slip, good catch, no-ball! It all happens at Chepauk as MS Dhoni survives Jasprit Bumrah scare

#Bat#slip#good#catch#no-ball#It#all #happens#at#Chepauk#as#MS#Dhoni #survives#Jasprit#Bumrah#scare Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a pivotal role in guiding the home team to a challenging 131/4 at the Chepauk Stadium on Tuesday in the IPL 2019 Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians. However, en route to his 29-ball 37 knock, he survived a Jasprit Bumrah scare with a lucky escape in the final over of CSK's innings.  Bumrah was back for his last over with Dhoni on strike. He went in with a pacy, fullish delivery on the off stump as Dhoni got under in a bid to find the long-on boundary. But the bat slipped off his hand while the ball was sliced off to Ishan Kishan at the backward point who completed a wonderful catch. Chepauk posed a pin-drop silence as Mumbai Indians celebrated the big wicket. However, all was cut short when the giant screen showed that Bumrah was in fact overstepping. Dhoni joined the crease to add five more runs to the scoreboard as CSK finished with 131/4 in 20 overs.

On Monday, former Indian captain and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni cast his vote in his hometown Ranchi. Dhoni, who has a packed schedule due to the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), took time out and travelled to Ranchi after his side's clash against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Mohali to abide by his voting duties as a responsible citizen. CSK travelled to Mohali on Friday ahead of their clash against the hosts on Sunday at the PCA Stadium. CSK lost the game by six wickets after failing to defend a target of 171 runs. However, the defending champions booked a spot in top two on the virtue of a supreme run rate. While the rest of the squad left for Chennai for the first Qualifier against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday, Dhoni was spotted in Ranchi at a polling booth with his daughter Ziva.

Watch- Catch of the season? Dinesh Karthik pulls off a stunner to dismiss Quinton de Kock
Watch- Catch of the season? Dinesh Karthik pulls off a stunner to dismiss Quinton de Kock

#Catch#of#the#season#Dinesh#Karthik #pulls#off#a#stunner#to#dismiss#Quinton #de#Kock Dinesh Karthik failed to take Kolkata Knight Riders into the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 as his side suffered a 9-wicket loss against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. While it was a disappointing day for Karthik as a captain, he was as sharp as ever behind the stumps and pulled off a spectacular running catch to dismiss Quinton de Kock. It was a stunning effort from the KKR wicket-keeper as he had to chase down the ball while running back and keep his eyes intact on the ball before timing his dive to perfection.  The dismissal took place in the 7th over of the Mumbai Indians innings when de Kock top-edged a short delivery from Prasidh Krishna and the ball went high in the air. It looked like the ball will land in a no man's zone but Karthik chased it down till the very end and pulled off a 'catch of the season,' contender. Despite the ball moving away from him, he never gave up in his chase and ended up plucking it at the end.  With Mumbai Indians chasing a low-key target of 134 runs, KKR were in desperate need of a wicket and a moment of inspiration after openers Rohit Sharma and de Kock got their team off to a good start and the moment was provided by none other than the skipper himself for KKR. de Kock was dismissed after scoring 30 off 23 balls as Mumbai Indians lost their first wicket on 46 runs.  However, it was always going to be a difficult task to defend the target for KKR against a formidable Mumbai Indians batting line-up and Rohit's unbeaten 55 along with Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 46 set the stage for a comfortable win for the hosts. It was for the first time in three years that KKR failed to make it to the playoffs as MI topped the points table to book a clash with Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 1.

#Kieron#Pollard#falls#awkwardly#trying#to #save#a#boundary#during #MI#vs #SRH #clash Kieron Pollard has been one of the best fielders for his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Mumbai Indians (MI) and continues to give his all on the pitch. During MI's crunch encounter with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, Pollard put his body on the line to save a boundary and ended up falling awkwardly after rolling over the advertisement board. The incident happened in the 4th over of the Sunrisers innings when Saha played a pull short off Jasprit Bumrah towards deep mid-wicket and Pollard chased the ball down till the end to almost save a boundary by kicking it back before ending up crashing into the advertising board. He failed to stop the boundary but luckily escaped unhurt after landing into the audio zone.  It was a thrilling contest between the two sides at the Wankhede Stadium as the result of the match was decided via Super Over after the game was tied. Mumbai Indians rode on Quinton de Kock's brilliant knock of 69 runs off 58 balls to post a challenging total of 162/5, batting first. Manish Pandey (71) and Mohammad Nabi (31) played two crucial knocks as SRH managed to draw the game to take it into the Super over.
