Australia and India cricket teams met Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Tuesday on the eve of the fourth Test in Sydney. The leader hosted the captains at his official residence, the Kirribilli House in Sydney on New Year's Day. Addressing officials, the teams and their families, Kohli said the event was an honour to attend and commended his side's achievement of winning the series in Australia. ''What we have done in these first three Tests and the way that we have been able to play is something that is very special and something that will stay with us for life,'' said the India skipper. Paine thanked Kohil and his men for helping the Australian public ''fall back in love with cricket'' - a reference to the tender nature of the sport's image after the ball-tampering scandal erupted in March 2018.

It's just another match of cricket, says Bangladesh's captain after beating Pakistan
It's just another match of cricket, says Bangladesh's captain after beating Pakistan

Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 37 runs in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to reach the final of the Asian Cup. Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh said, "It's just another match of cricket, it's nothing special to play against Pakistan or any team. I think Afghanistan is a great team, and also Sri Lanka. Although they lost both their matches and knocked from the group stage but I think they are a very dangerous team. Because in general they win against us in our backyard. So you can't take any team for granted and I think it's just another game and just treat it like that. And all the guys were spirited with that because it's the third time that probably we got a great chance to go into the final and hopefully we can make it number one, end up winning, so it's just a match." 'Tie with India important moment in Afghanistan history', says captain Ashgar

India-Afghanistan match ends in a thrilling tie. Ashgar Afghan, captain of Afghanistan spoke on the team's performance in the tournament. He said, "It is really a proud moment for me and my team, because we have played super cricket in this Asia Cup, winning the first two games in the first round and then qualifying for the Super 4. Here we finished two close games and we were unlucky we couldn't finish with a win in the last two matches. But the way we have finished today I think I am feeling proud and the credit goes to the players for the way they have played in the entire tournament. It shows the consistency and commitment of our performance that we have shown in this tournament. I am very happy and satisfied, it is also an important moment in history for Afghanistan because we have never played like this in the Asia Cup before. We were unlucky not to qualify for the final, but we hope we will do that next time." Asia Cup 2018: Indian team didn’t allow us to play, says Pakistan’s head coach
Asia Cup 2018: Indian team didn’t allow us to play, says Pakistan’s head coach

India defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018 super four match in Dubai International Stadium on Monday. India chased Pakistan by 238 runs. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma scored centuries. Sharma made 111 runs while Dhawan scored 114. Shikhar Dhawan also won man of the match. He also scored his 26th ODI fifty in just 56 balls. With this win India has qualified for the final of Asia Cup. After the match, Pakistan’s head coach, Micky Arthur addressed the media. He said, "No, there's not so many. I think we got to be realistic here. We were very well beaten by a very good Indian cricket team. They didn't allow us to play. We are a team that's developing. And we have said it all the while. Look at, we got Sarfraz (Ahmed) and (Mohamad) Amir with 50 more caps that (Shoaib) Malik with 200. Other than that, the boys are young, they are developing, they will develop from this, they will gain strength, they will get better and better from this. Certainly not bad these boys. These guys are skillful, very good cricketers. Here they are suffering bit of a confidence crisis at the moment. There's a little bit of fear of failure in the dressing room, there's a little bit of reality check in terms of exactly where we are as a cricket team..but these guys are backing a hundred per cent. In terms of worst performance, nine wickets, it's got to be up there. But we are on a journey, we will just getter better and stronger from this."
