Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma got MI off to a flyer with a 70-run stand. Moeen Ali pulled things back for RCB with the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock in the eighth over. RCB stayed in the game by picking up wickets at regular intervals. However, Hardik Pandya wrapped up the chase with a 16-ball 37-run innings.

Pollard, who scored 83 runs off 31 balls, departed in the last over when MI needed four runs from five balls. Alzarri Joseph and Rahul Chahar held their nerve and took MI over the line.
