Celebrations turned into disappointment as Australia crushed Pakistan’s T20 World Cup dream. It was a crazy T20 WC semi-final as Australia pulled off a win scoring 57 in the last 18 balls. Matthew Wade & Marcus Stoinis stood unbeaten in a six-hitting feast to lead Australia to the T20 WC final. Pakistan was off to a good start and looked good when defending 176. Fans in Pakistan, who gathered to watch the semifinal, were spotted jumping and dancing but Stoinis and Wade joined hands and changed the entire script of the match. Meanwhile, fans in Pak went silent and were disappointed as their team crashed out in the semis. Australia will now play New Zealand on Sunday in the finals of the T20 World Cup. Neeraj Chopra bagged a historic gold medal in the men's javelin in Tokyo Olympics. He became independent India's first athlete to win a medal in track & field discipline. English-Indian athlete Norman Pritchard had won 2 silver medals in the 1900 Games. Chopra threw a distance of 87.58 in his second attempt to win the gold medal. He became the 2nd Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal after Abhinav Bindra. Following a complaint of racism raised by Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj, senior teammates Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin spoke out. Siraj alleged that he faced racial abuses from some spectators. Six people were subsequently removed from the ground during the Test match in Australia's Sydney. Kohli called it the 'absolute peak of rowdy behaviour'. Ashwin said that there had been similar episodes in Sydney in the past. The ICC also 'strongly condemned' the incident.
