Following a complaint of racism raised by Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj, senior teammates Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin spoke out. Siraj alleged that he faced racial abuses from some spectators. Six people were subsequently removed from the ground during the Test match in Australia's Sydney. Kohli called it the 'absolute peak of rowdy behaviour'. Ashwin said that there had been similar episodes in Sydney in the past. The ICC also 'strongly condemned' the incident. While Australia and India were fighting the on-field battle in the second ODI, there was a man who succeeded to find his life partner in the stands at Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. A man wearing an Indian team jersey went down on one knee and proposed to his lover while the visitors were chasing the giant target. The girl was supporting the home side as she was donning the yellow colour t-shirt. The girl accepted the proposal as the commentators and the players enjoyed a light-hearted moment in the match. Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement on Saturday, August 15. Dhoni, former Indian captain, has led India to various great victories under his captaincy. Dhoni has also served with the Indian Army in Kashmir as an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA battalion). Dhoni fulfilled his patrolling duties for about 15 days in Kashmir in 2019. Dhoni served as part of Victor Force and undertook guard & post duty too. Dhoni was awarded the honor by the Indian Army in 2011. The former Indian captain is also a qualified paratrooper. Dhoni completed five parachute training jumps in 2015 from Indian Army aircraft. Dhoni had last played for India in an international match in the semi-final loss to New Zealand in 2019. Dhoni had announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2014. Dhoni announced his retirement through a social media post. “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” the caption read.

Trump said that the official name given to the disease, which has turned into a pandemic, was aimed at hiding its Chinese origin. He said that he could name '19-20 versions' of the novel coronavirus' name. Following allegations of racism, White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany said that the President's aim was to link the virus to China which has been trying to 'rewrite history' regarding the outbreak.
