Los Angeles Clippers Advance and Decisive Game 7
The Los Angeles Clippers advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history thanks to Terance Mann 39 points and Paul George's 28 points and nine rebounds. In my previous video, I called out Paul George but he stepped up to the plate and is one of the reasons why the Clippers are moving on. They need George to be great and deliver and he did just that. For the Utah Jazz, injuries and coaching cost them this series. Donovan Mitchell dropped 39 points to go along with nine rebounds and nine assists even though he was not 100 percent. The defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert couldn't guard the Los Angeles perimeter players and they made him pay. The Jazz need a versatile small big they can deploy in key moments or when a team goes small to help alleviate the mismatch on the defensive end. The 76ers handled business in Atlanta and forced a decisive game 7 at home. Look for the crowd to be electric and a hostile environment for the Hawks. Atlanta needs more help from its supporting cast if they are going to win this series. For Philly, Ben Simmons has to step up to the task and drop 20 points if they are going to have a chance in this one. If Philly loses, you could see the blow up of Embiid and Simmons duo. Simmons just needs to be himself and slash early and often while avoiding early foul trouble. If he can do that and remain aggressive, Philly has a good chance of advancing. It will be a great Western Conference Finals series but still question marks as we don't know if key players Chris Paul and Kawhi Leonard will be back. Atlanta Hawks Take 1-0 Series Lead vs The New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden was electric Sunday Night. It was the first time the New York Knicks have been in the playoffs in 8 years, and the fans showed their excitement. For New York, it was a rough start to the game as they faced a double-digit deficit in the 1st quarter. The Knicks came roaring back in the 2nd and 3rd quarter putting pressure on the young Atlanta Hawks. Alec Burks had one of the best games of his 10 year career scoring 27 points on an efficient 9-13 shooting. Derrick Rose gave New York a jolt off the bench with his 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists. New York's effort fell short as Trae Young iced the crowd with a game winner. Young showed out scoring 32 points, dishing out 10 assists, and grabbing five rebounds in his playoff debut. The last time that happened in a debut is when Lebron James did it in 2006. Young joined elite company. Bogdan Bogdanovic was clutch hitting a game tying three with 55 seconds left in the game. Bogey had 18 points, 4 three pointers, and four rebounds. Hawks clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2017
The Atlanta Hawks are playoff bound after going through the rebuilding process for two years. Trae Young led the way in a near triple double with 33 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. John Collins was clutch for the Hawks as his three gave the team a late lead. The Washington Wizards fall short in a two game series against the Hawks. Bradley Beal didn’t play in both games, but Westbrook shouldered the load. Westbrook finished with 34 points, 15 assists, and five rebounds. Atlanta has a back-to-back tonight against the Orlando Magic, and the Wizards play tomorrow night at home against Cleveland. #True2Atlanta #TraeYoung #Russ
Braves Win 6-1 vs Nationals
Braves strikes first in a three game series for the Washington Nationals. Ronald Acuña got the offense going in the 6th inning scoring a solo HR, and becoming the first in the MLB to reach double-digits. Braves Pitcher Huascar Ynoa pitched a great game and also hit a grand slam in the 6th inning to pushed the Braves lead to 6-0. The Nationals didn’t score until 7th inning. Washington had a tough time getting the offense going, but the Braves had no problems after Ronald Acuña got them started. Good win for the Braves as Game 2 starts tonight at 7:00.
Atlanta Hawks Win 123-114 vs Portland Trail Blazers
The Atlanta Hawks got key contributions from Danilo Gallinari and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Both players combined for 14 threes and 53 points. Trae Young also had a double-double scoring 21 points along with 11 assists. Atlanta finished with 32 assists and were + 10 on the boards. The team shared the ball well, and it was moving on a string all game.Carmelo Anthony makes history becoming top 10 all time on the NBA scoring list, he finished the game with 15. Damian Lillard balled scoring 33 points on an efficient 11-19 shooting. CJ McCollum added 20 points.
