Here we are again. The Colorado Avalanche finished their game Thursday night against the Nashville Predators, and then found out the next day their season would be put on hold until at least December 27th, meaning the Avs will have to make up the four games they would have played during that time. The NHL implemented new standards in an attempt to deal with limiting the number of positive cases, but is that a battle that cannot be won? Is the league trying to just plug holes whenever one pops up, or should they be more proactive in just shutting the league down now before it gets worse? Kyle and Chris talk about where things stand with the Avs and the league and even dive into some conspiracy theories, because why not. Many people had the Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers as a potential Stanley Cup Final, and if last night was any indication, we would all be in for a treat if it were to happen. The Avs came out on top, 3-2, of a back and forth affair that had everything you want in a hockey game and one thing you don't. On one hand you had one team pull ahead only for the other to storm back and tie it. You had an ending that had you on the edge of your seat and goaltending to match. But you also had one player in Jacob MacDonald get taken off the ice on a stretcher. Can anything be done by the league to prevent this from happening even if the hit could be deemed as "clean"? In the end, you felt like you had been through a summer blockbuster movie and you had to catch your breath. Of course, it felt better that the good guys won in the end. The Colorado Avalanche had a memorable first game against the Seattle Kraken. Many expected to see former Avalanche goalie Philipp Grubauer face his former team. But it was announced prior to the game he would not get the start. However, four early goals lead to a goalie change and Grubauer had no choice but to face his former team. This game was all Avalanche. They were clearly the better team, and it showed. Prior to the game the Avs announced a two year extension for head coach Jared Bednar. So the team clearly has faith in him bringing the Avs to the promised land of winning a Stanley Cup. Subscribe and Enjoy! WANT MORE DAILY COLORADO AVALANCHE CONTENT? The Colorado Avalanche should be playing better than this. Sure it was only game 10 in an 82 game season, but the Avalanche are not putting together a full 60 minutes and it has burned them in the last two games against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Colorado got back big pieces in Andre Burakovsky, Mikko Rantanen and Devon Toews say his first action of the season. But none of that mattered. The top line did not register a point and was a -4 on the night. Darcy Keumper looked fantastic over the majority of the game, but the man could only do so much before the dam broke. What do the Avalanche need to do? Kyle joined me to keep my emotions in check and we discuss why the Avalanche have yet to his their sweet spot so far this season. Ain't a hockey season without controversy. Did Tyson Jost kick the puck in to the net to momentarily tie the game against the St. Louis Blues at 4? I think the survey says yes on that. But so did Chandler Stephenson of the Vegas Golden Knights a few days earlier, and that goal stood. Once again, the inconsistency of everything to do with rulings comes into play. Also, the Avs were named as a team who called Buffalo as they gauged interest in Jack Eichel. Why we should not think that has any meaning other than a phone call was made.
