West Ham rode their luck on more than one occasion to register a 2-0 Premier League win over Leeds United on Monday night, securing the Hammers' first league double of the Whites since the mid-1950's! Goals from Jesse Lingard and Craig Dawson secured all three points for David Moyes' men as they climbed back up into the 5th and continued their battle for european qualification. But Leeds were arguably the better team on the night, with Declan Rice, Moyes and Lingard all slamming the overall performance on the night. So the lads react to the win, the performance and all the talking points that came from the game, including the penalty, VAR luck, Fornals' performance, the mysterious hype around Kalvin Phillips and much more! West Ham are massive. Two wins in four days. Six games unbeaten. Four wins in a row in all competitions. Seventh in the league. West Ham are MASSIVE! In what is fast becoming another memorable season in our great club's history, David Moyes has transformed us into a dodgy, weak and unpredictable relegation battling outfit to a strong, resolute, consistent and hard to beat side battling for European qualification. All that in just over a year! Of course, it's still early days and we are playing in unsual circumstances with COVID still very much playing a part in the way football is played both on and off the pitch. But we're beginning to see real progress under Moyes. On this week's bumper show, recording straight after the 2-1 win over West Brom on Tuesday night, James Jones, Will Pugh and Tom Edwards dissect the side's fantastic form, look ahead to this weekend's FA Cup 4th Round clash v. Doncaster and, in a huge and very insightful interview, chat about West Ham's finances with football finance expert Kieran Maguire. Kieran reveals what he thinks are the reasons behind the recent appointment of new directors, gives a pretty heartbreaking view on a potential sale of the club in the near future and discusses the ins and outs of recent transfers, the severe financial impact of COVID on the club and much, much more. Is anyone still giggling to themselves about Ademola Lookman's hilarious attempt at a Panenka during West Ham vs Fulham last weekend? Surely it has to be the worst penalty to have been taken in Premier League history, but it means we were able to come away with what some consider to be a very fortunate three points last weekend. The first half wasn't bad but the second half was poor, as we ran out of ideas to break Scott Parker's side down, and it almost cost us. And that's the stance Will Pugh is taking this week. Despite the win, Will is angry with the performance, Said Benrahma's 'unprofessionalism' in giving away the penalty and James Jones' view that you just can't be upset with a win. The latter definitely making Will a lot angrier than he should be. So this episode has a lot of James and Will completely disagreeing with each other, which always makes for fun listening, while Tom Edwards sits back and refuses to get involved. The big interview this week is with West Ham icon Tony Gale, who joined the lads to discuss the Fulham game, the impact Moyes has had on the team, Declan Rice and so much more!
