WE'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!! SUNDERLAND 3-2 SHREWSBURY MATCH REVIEW
Sunderland pulled off another late win as they claimed a huge 3 points against Shrewsbury. Elliot Embleton scored a beauty after just 4 minutes to give Sunderland the lead before Nathan Broadhead made it 2 after 13 minutes. After a somewhat comfortable first half, Sunderland's complacency and arrogance got the better of them as two quick fire goals from Josh Vela and Tom Flanagan leveled the game. After a grinding 2nd half, Nathan Broadhead capitalised on a huge defensive mistake from Shrewsbury and headed the ball into the net in the 91st minute. Sunderland remain in the top 6, we're just hoping that MK Dons do us a favour tomorrow against Sheffield Wednesday. SUNDERLAND SACK LEE JOHNSON
Sunderland have sacked Lee Johnson following the 6-0 defeat to Bolton yesterday. To every other fanbase in the country, it looks strange to sack him considering we're 3rd and just a win from 1st, but it was the right move. We've conceded 3+ goals in a single match at least six times this season (these include a 4-0 loss to Pompey, a 5-1 loss to Rotherham and yesterday). We have no consistency and Johnson's tactics and game management have been appalling as of late. However, this next appointment MUST be the right one if we are going to progress as a football club. #SAFC #SunderlandAFC
WAHEYYYY!!! SUNDERLAND 1-0 PORTSMOUTH MATCH REVIEW
Sunderland won their first game of 2022 with a vital 1-0 win over Portsmouth at the Stadium of Light. Elliot Embleton scored the only goal of the game on 40 minutes which was enough for the 3 points. Overall, it was a poor game of football. Portsmouth had the most possession but didn't do much with it. Sunderland looked shaky at times and after a horrendous opening 30 minutes, managed to get into the game. It was crucial that we won today, just to keep the feel-good factor alive. WE WON?! SUNDERLAND 2-0 IPSWICH TOWN MATCH REVIEW
Sunderland somehow managed to beat Ipswich Town 2-0 at the Stadium of Light. Luke O'Nien scored the 1st in the 85th minute before Aiden McGeady sealed the win from the penalty spot in the 93rd minute. Sunderland still weren't good enough today, we were 2nd best everywhere on the pitch and we were very lucky that Ipswich couldn't score to save their lives today. Hoffmann was also excellent in goal, pulling off that triple save in the 1st half. However, we will definitely take those 3 points and hopefully it will give the players confidence to push on and start winning again.
