Sunderland won their first game of 2022 with a vital 1-0 win over Portsmouth at the Stadium of Light. Elliot Embleton scored the only goal of the game on 40 minutes which was enough for the 3 points. Overall, it was a poor game of football. Portsmouth had the most possession but didn't do much with it. Sunderland looked shaky at times and after a horrendous opening 30 minutes, managed to get into the game. It was crucial that we won today, just to keep the feel-good factor alive.
