The unsung hero Rayudu, who has been part of CSK for four seasons now, said he would love to play for the team again and hoped to get picked by the franchise in the forthcoming auction. “…I would definitely love to play for CSK. Formally, there has not been any communication with me so far, But I am hoping to get picked by them and have a successful league again,” he said. IPL 2022 Auction: The Super Kings have retained Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali apart from skipper Dhoni ahead of the auction for the next IPL season. The Dhoni-led side won the fourth title earlier this year after failing to qualify for the play-offs in 2020. “After the 2020 season, this win was very special for us in CSK. I have had my contribution too. I have had a great opportunity and showed my potential… “I enjoyed the role I played this year with CSK. Being in the lower middle order, it is difficult to get such an opportunity, and I cherished every moment.” IPL 2022 Auction: Asked if CSK’s template was one for the others to follow, Rayudu said: “I wouldn’t say template but every team looks for a mix of young and experienced players while picking. Especially when there is high pressure, experience really counts. “We are seeing a lot of teams being very mature about the selection of their teams and I think this year will be a very interesting auction,” the Andhra batter, who made 257 runs during CSK’s winning 2021 IPL campaign, said. Rayudu feels his stint with four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings was a special one and skipper MS Dhoni brought the best out of him. “My stint with CSK has been a very special one. We have won two IPLs till now and played one final. 2018 was a very special season, a comeback season for CSK and us winning the IPL that year made it very special. “Dhoni bhai has had the impact of getting the best out of me, not only me but he has an impact on everyone and brings the best performance out of everyone in the team. It will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. Official communication from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is awaited, but Cricbuzz can confirm that the IPL officials have called each franchise on Thursday (December 23) to inform them of the dates. During their calls on Thursday morning, the BCCI officials also insisted that the schedule is final despite a clash with an international game - an ODI between India and West Indies. The board assured the franchise that the match will have no bearing on the auction proceedings and both will go ahead as planned. The second One-Day International between India and West Indies is scheduled for February 12 in Kolkata. "It has been clarified to us that the match and auction are two different things and both will go ahead," a franchise official told Cricbuzz after obtaining clarification from the BCCI. If anyone, Star Sports should have a say on this as they are the broadcast rights holders of both the events. It is learnt that Star officials have also been informed about it. A reply from Star is awaited. The BCCI has written to International boards and state associations recently to send in the names of the players to be enrolled for the auction by January 17. The mega event, being held for 10 teams this year, will have more than 1000 players with as many as between 200 to 250 expected to go under the hammer. The IPL officials have further informed the franchises that the formal pre-auction briefing, a normal feature of every auction, will be held on February 11 and has asked them to be in Bangalore by evening that day. IPL 2022 Mega auction: CSK calls for trials | Mega auction in February? | No cricket in Olympics? | IPL News Tamil #ipl #ipl2022 #ipldraft #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl Reports: IPL mega auction for 2022 season set to take place in February first week Amidst all the hype around the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the upcoming mega auction is desperately awaited by all the fans. In what comes as major news, the IPL Governing Council has decided to conduct the 2022 IPL mega auction in the first week of February, after extending the deadline for the draft pick for the two new franchises. According to Cricket.com, the IPL GC has already given the details to all the teams. However, the lack of clarity regarding a final decision on the CVC Sports’ association in the IPL has propelled the board to delay the auction process. The report further stated that the auction is all set to be a two-day affair, just like the other mega auctions in the past. As a matter of fact, with the addition of two new teams, the 2022 mega auction is going to be bigger than the one which took place in 2018. As the screening process is comparatively better in Bangalore and Hyderabad, the reports state that the mega-event will be taking place in either of these two cities. Thus the mega auction could take place anywhere in the first week of February 2022. IPL 2022: CSK call up Odisha’s Subhranshu Senapati for selection trials Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the four-time champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have called up Odisha batter Subhranshu Senapati for selection trials ahead of the upcoming edition. The 24-year-old has been in stupendous form of late, having scored 275 runs from seven games in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The right-hander is Odisha’s leading run-scorer in the tournament. On December 8, he scored a sparkling century against Andhra at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. On the back of his knock, Odisha racked up a score of 278 for five on the board after which they won the game by 63 runs. Senapati also scored half-centuries against Vidarbha and Himachal Pradesh. Odisha are currently placed fourth in Elite Group A with three wins from five games. As far as CSK are concerned, they retained four players ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. They shelled out the highest amount on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was retained for INR 16 crores. The Yellow Army retained their enigmatic skipper MS Dhoni for INR 12 crores. England all-rounder Moeen Ali and Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad were retained for INR 8 crores each. IPL 2022 Mega auction: CSK Auction targets | Delay in IPL auction? | Kohli vs BCCI | IPL news Tamil #ipl #ipl2022 #ipldraft #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl Reports: KL Rahul likely to be named Lucknow skipper, Shreyas Iyer in captaincy contention for Ahmedabad In what can be called a major development, two new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, based in Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively, have finalized the three players they’ll pick ahead of the players’ auction. As per the reports, KL Rahul, who wasn’t retained by Punjab Kings, is likely to lead the Lucknow-based team. Rashid Khan are Ishan Kishan are the other two players who’ll accompany the 29-year-old. As far as the Ahmedabad franchise is concerned, Shreyas Iyer, who parted ways with Delhi Capitals, would lead them. While Hardik Pandya is the other player picked in the team, either Quinton de Kock or David Warner would be the other pick in the team. For the unversed, the two new franchises are allowed to make a maximum of three picks from the list of non-retained players ahead of the next season’s bidding event. As a mega auction is in the pipeline, teams were allowed to retain just a maximum of four players, out of which only two can be foreign retentions. Hence, Lucknow and Ahmedabad have a lot of options to choose from. While the deadline to finalize the picks in December 25, sources close to ABP news have revealed that the players and even the captain is selected. Also an update was provided on the CSK Auction targets. Ravi ashwin, Washington sundar, Shah rukh khan and Shikhar dhawan are touted to be in CSK's radar. Wait on CVC decision continues The wait on the Ahmedabad franchise, bought by CVC Sports, continues. Although there is an air of optimism for a possible settlement soon, the BCCI authorities have been inexplicably silent on the matter. It is learnt that a retired judge of the Supreme Court has been consulted and his advice is being awaited. One notable development that has come to light recently is that the expert advice has gone against awarding the franchise to the second-highest bidder, should the BCCI decide to cancel the allocation of the franchise to the American investment firm. The BCCI, apparently, will have to go for rebidding, which may offset a lot of the IPL planning.
