OFFICIAL SIGNING: Paul Pogba decision help complete £13m swoop as French star lead transfer race
OFFICIAL SIGNING: Paul Pogba decision help complete £13m swoop as French star lead transfer race

Paul Pogba decision can help Thomas Tuchel complete £13m swoop as Chelsea lead transfer race Paul Pogba could have a huge say in the success of Chelsea's upcoming transfer window amid Todd Boehly's mission to bolster the first-team ahead of next season. The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for a midfielder lately, with Jorginho and N'Golo Kante set to leave Stamford Bridge in twelve months. Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni have emerged as primary targets of Thomas Tuchel, though the west Londoners have also been linked with a move for Adrien Rabiot, according to reports. Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim that Chelsea are leading the race to sign the Juventus midfielder this summer. The report adds that the 27-year-old, who sees his contract with the Turin-based side expire next summer, could be available for as little as €15 million (£12.8m). Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in Rabiot, but his agent is leaving the door open to a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Rabiot's potential exit from Juventus coincides with the Old Lady's reported desire to bring back Pogba from Manchester United. Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Massimiliano Allegri's side are on the brink of resigning the midfielder, who has been offered a three-year deal worth around £10million-a-season. The report adds that Juventus are confident of getting a deal wrapped up, of which could be officially announced this week. Therefore, with Pogba's arrival on the cards, Allegri could have as many as six midfielders at his disposal next season. So, Juventus could be inclined to relinquish Rabiot's services, with Pogba helping Chelsea complete the first transfer of the Boehly era. The LA Dodgers co-owner, who agreed a £4.25billion deal to buy the west London club on Monday, is expected to 'push for A-list signings' to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, according to the MailOnline. And, regardless of whether the American billionaire secures Rabiot's services, Tuchel is keen to undergo a rebuild at Chelsea this summer. Speaking to football.london, the Blues boss said: "We are rebuilding, not improving the squad. We are rebuilding. This is always challenging, but we are up for the challenge. "I don't know where we are from day one. What I can promise is that I will be here – if I can promise that – I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what. We will still work for Chelsea, and I refuse to think of negative scenarios. We will be competitive, on which level we will see."

PCB announces 16-player squad for ODIs against West Indies PCB announces 16-player squad for three ODIs against West Indies. Matches are scheduled at Pindi Cricket Stadium on June 8, 10 and 12. Babar Azam will continue to lead the side. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Monday named the 16-player squad for the three International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League One-Day Internationals (ODI) against the West Indies. As the series will not be played in a Managed Event Environment, the selectors have decided to reduce the 21-player squad for the home Australia ODIs to 16 players. Those left out of the squad from next month’s matches are Asif Afridi, Asif Ali, Haider Ali and Usman Qadir. Saud Shakeel was not considered as he is scheduled to undergo surgery for sinusitis. The matches are scheduled at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on June 8, 10 and 12. Babar Azam will continue to lead the side, while Shadab Khan, who missed the Australia ODIs due to an injury, has returned as vice-captain. The squad will assemble in Rawalpindi on June 1 for a training camp and Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan, who are currently playing in the English County Championship, will join the squad in time for the practice sessions. In this regard, Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim said: “As the ODIs against the West Indies are part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 qualification, we have decided to give the best chance to our side to collect maximum points and strengthen our chances of progressing directly for the pinnacle 50-over tournament. We have retained the same core of players so they further establish themselves in the format. I hope this bunch will continue the form they gained from the Australia series. “Also, and taking into consideration that there will be no Managed Event Environment and the players can be called at a short notice, we have reduced the squad size to 16 players. “For the Australia ODIs, we had also announced backup players as cover to those players who were dealing with injuries. Players such as Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan are now fully fit, which has allowed us to leave out Asif Afridi and Usman Qadir. He said that Usman, along with Asif Ali and Haider Ali remain in the PCB’s plans for the shortest format as they have a series of T20I lined up this year, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. India vs Sri Lanka - 2nd T20I - 26th-Feb-2022 - Sri Lanka tour of India 2022

#India #Sri Lanka - #2ndT20I #SriLankatourofIndia 2022 After a stellar performance in the shortest format throughout the season, team India will aim to whitewash another team in their home conditions after they won the first game in convincing fashion. Sri Lanka at the other hand will try to make a big comeback and try to keep the series alive for the decider that is to be played tomorrow. Some injury concerns for team India continue as it has been reported that Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the series and will undergo a rehab at NCA. Mayank Agarwal has been named as his replacement for the remaining two games. India had a terrific game at Lucknow. First up with the bat as skipper Rohit Sharma and his new opening partner Ishan Kishan made merry of the conditions and also took lots of doubles and triples as the ground dimensions were a bit larger, putting the fielding team under tremendous pressure. Thanks to a quickfire knock from Shreyas Iyer at the end, India put up a massive total of 199 runs in their 20 overs. The bowlers then took over and allowed Rohit Sharma to experiment with the bowling attack which included using Venkatesh Iyer at the death and also allowed a smooth comeback for Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja at the international arena. The only positives for the Sri Lanka team were the fighting knocks from Charith Asalanka who scored a patient half century, holding one end batting at number 4. Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera also fluently played his strokes batting lower down the order and scored his highest T20 score. Only Ravindra Jadeja bowled his full quota of four overs as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer picked up a couple of wickets each with Jadeja, and Yuzvendra Chahal chipping in with a wicket apiece. Vice captain Jasprit Bumrah, debutant Deepak Hooda and Harshal Patel (2 overs) went wicketless and Venkatesh finished his spell on the expensive side as he was taken to the cleaners in the death overs when Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were relieved off their bowling duties. Toss and the pitch report coming up and live action to follow.
