The report adds that the 27-year-old, who sees his contract with the Turin-based side expire next summer, could be available for as little as €15 million (£12.8m). Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in Rabiot, but his agent is leaving the door open to a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Rabiot's potential exit from Juventus coincides with the Old Lady's reported desire to bring back Pogba from Manchester United. Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Massimiliano Allegri's side are on the brink of resigning the midfielder, who has been offered a three-year deal worth around £10million-a-season. The report adds that Juventus are confident of getting a deal wrapped up, of which could be officially announced this week. Therefore, with Pogba's arrival on the cards, Allegri could have as many as six midfielders at his disposal next season. So, Juventus could be inclined to relinquish Rabiot's services, with Pogba helping Chelsea complete the first transfer of the Boehly era. The LA Dodgers co-owner, who agreed a £4.25billion deal to buy the west London club on Monday, is expected to 'push for A-list signings' to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, according to the MailOnline. And, regardless of whether the American billionaire secures Rabiot's services, Tuchel is keen to undergo a rebuild at Chelsea this summer. Speaking to football.london, the Blues boss said: "We are rebuilding, not improving the squad. We are rebuilding. This is always challenging, but we are up for the challenge. "I don't know where we are from day one. What I can promise is that I will be here – if I can promise that – I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what. We will still work for Chelsea, and I refuse to think of negative scenarios. We will be competitive, on which level we will see."

However, speaking on Dutch TV on Monday night on Ziggo Sport’s show ‘Rondo’ - which featured Ten Hag as its guest - Van Basten suggested that Ziyech could again thrive under the new United manager if he moved to Old Trafford. “What comes to my mind now is that I think Ziyech who already plays in England could be a very good footballer at Manchester United for Erik,” Van Basten said. Ten Hag refused to respond specifically to Van Basten’s suggestion and insisted that he is already used to dealing with transfer speculation “Of course this was already the case at Ajax,” said Ten Hag. “You take that in and then you have to continue to work well with the dressing room and with people within the club. One of the reasons against a move is the fact a defensive midfielder would still be required. If United are prepared to invest in two big midfield signings this summer, then it can work. Kante and De Jong could end up as United’s future partnership. There are a few questions surrounding United’s potential move for Kante, a player regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders of his generation. Why would Chelsea sell Kante? Chelsea will have new owners this summer and big investment is expected. New midfield additions could see him become surplus to requirements. This season Kante has only started 19 league games for Chelsea, and he has only got one year remaining on his current contract. Would United be signing Kante too late? This is a real risk. Even when Manchester United signed Nemanja Matic, he was 28, and it felt like he was brought in too late. Kante may be able to to a good job, a great job even, for a couple of years, but he is not exactly a long term answer for the club. On the other hand, even this version of Kante is still a major upgrade on Manchester United’s current defensive midfield options. How much would Kante cost? Chelsea paid a bargain £32 million to sign Kante from Leicester and he has been worth every penny to them. But with his contract expiring in 2023, United may be able to get Kante for less than the fee they paid, perhaps even around £25 million. Combine this with De Jong, who would cost around £60 million, and United could fix the midfield for around £80-85 million. This would provide a solid new platform for Erik ten Hag’s new look side, but this drastic renovation could mean other areas of the side end up with more frugal solutions. United would like to add a new striker, new defender, and also could do with adding new full-backs. If so much money is spent in central midfield, then not as much may be available for other areas.

Ten Hag likes to groom emerging stars as witnessed at Ajax, but he may ideally want two strikers at Man Utd this summer with one of them having a prolific scoring record. Ekitike is still highly inexperienced at the top level. The Dutch tactician may utilise him regularly off the bench before he becomes an establish figure in the long run. The same could be the case at Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Newcastle appear the most likely club to assure him with a regular starting role for the 2022/23 campaign. It may eventually come to what the youngster wants to do. He would have the chance to play in the Champions League with Bayern and potentially with Arsenal. United could likely offer him Europa League football. None of this would be possible at St James’ Park. Frenkie de Jong had a great time at Ajax under ten Hag, helping them reach the Champions League semi-finals, and also helped him win that big-money move to Barcelona. “It’s been a bit mixed for de Jong at Barcelona, but I know Xavi is very keen to keep hold of him at the club. He says he wants to keep the Dutchman at the club and establish him as a first-team regular.” There are a number of reasons why United have fallen so far behind Manchester City and Liverpool this season, and their lack of control in midfield is certainly one of them. City have Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva working hard and producing moments of quality in the final third, plus Rodri sweeping up in front of the back four, Liverpool can rely on Thiago Alcantara to dictate the tempo of a game, with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson doing the dirty work to win the ball back. Meanwhile, Paul Pogba’s work rate at United has been questionable, whereas Fred and Scott McTominay have failed to prove that they are good enough to get the side competing against the best in the league. As a result, opposition teams have consistently been able to get at United’s back four this season, with the midfield getting bypassed far too easily. Ten Hag will need to fix this issue, so that United can get more control in games. De Jong will not be able to do it all on his own, but he is an experienced player at the base of the midfield, and bringing him in could ensure that the team is better balanced next season, which would give them a good chance of moving back up the table.

Whilst Diogo Dalot has been a prominent presence under the German manager, there isn’t a confirmed starter in the right-back position at the moment. There could be certain complications regarding any move for the young Brazilian wing-back but this could be a good situation for the club as well as the player. The 18-year-old could get the experience of being surrounded by some great players and should he show great potential the club could even try and lure him in. It is highly unlikely that the Sao-Paulo-born player would disrupt the hierarchy but would most probably play a part in the development team at the Mancunian club or be sent out on loan in an effort to give him some more senior team minutes under his belt. That being said, there are quite a few factors at play here including interest from some of the top clubs in Europe. With a lot of uncertainty, only time shall be able to predict what the future holds for the young Brazilian.
