More than the victory, the hosts would have also been pleased with the performance of their star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan, who enjoyed a fruitful outing in his comeback game following the ban. Shakib spun a web around the inexperienced West Indies lineup and ended up with stunning figures of 4/8. Shakib did look scratchy with the bat making only 19 off 43 balls in the small chase but the team management would be unperturbed by that. Debutant Hasan Mahmud picked up three wickets while skipper Tamim Iqbal scored a vital 44 in the chase to kickstart his captaincy regime with a win. With plenty of positives to take from the opening game, Bangladesh are outright favourites to inflict more damage in less than 48 hours against a side that looked quite lost with the bat. Can the West Indies be blamed though? With the big stars pulling out of the tour, they had to field plenty of newbies. Among those, only a couple of them made an impression. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein ended up picking three wickets making it hard for Bangladesh to chase down 123. But the new faces in the batting order struggled. It's never easy when four batters from the top six are making their debut away from home. Kyle Mayers stood tall with 40 but the rest crumbled. Their skipper Jason Mohammed played his first ODI in two and a half years and his struggles were evident as well. It wasn't the easiest wicket to bat on but the fact that they didn't even bat 50 overs would have stung the visitors. A win looks far-fetched and hence the immediate target for the camp will be to focus on the batting performance and come up with a better total. When: January 22, 2021 at 11 AM local time, 11.30 AM IST Where: Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka What to expect: The pitch was sticky in the first ODI so teams will be anticipating something similar. Clear skies are expected. Team News Bangladesh: The hosts won't be keen on changing a winning combination. While they handed out a debut to Hasan Mahmud, the other two uncapped players may have to wait a little longer until the series is wrapped. Predicted XI: Tamim Iqbal(c), Liton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman West Indies: Despite the lack of runs in the opening game, the management will be keen on sticking with the same set of players to hand them more exposure. Predicted XI: Sunil Ambris, Joshua Da Silva(w), Andre McCarthy, Nkrumah Bonner, Jason Mohammed(c), Rovman Powell, Kyle Mayers, Akeal Hosein, Raymon Reifer, Alzarri Joseph, Chemar Holder What they said "I think we definitely need to put on a bigger score. We bowled well, so it is just to give the bowlers something to work with. Hopefully that happens in the next match." - Debutant Akeal Hosein stresses on the need for a bigger score. The pitches have slowed down a lot and the high scores witnessed at the start of the tournament haven't been replicated. Team News Sunrisers Hyderabad After swatting RCB aside at the same venue on Saturday (October 31), SRH will have no reason to change their winning combination. Probable XI: David Warner (c), Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan Mumbai Indians Mitchell McClenaghan, one of MI's bowling mainstays in the past, might finally get a game if Boult is indeed rested. Bumrah might pave way for Dhawal Kulkarni. If MI decide to rest Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan might don the gloves with Chris Lynn replacing him in the XI. Probable XI: Ishan Kishan, Quinton de Kock/Chris Lynn, Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Kieron Pollard (c), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mitchell McClenaghan Did you know? SRH vs RR: Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets | rr vs srh 2020 highlights
SRH vs RR: Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets | rr vs srh 2020 highlights

This is when the purpose of the Indian Premier League serves. Two of India’s uncapped and talented players, Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag, soaked in all the pressure and then won a lost game for their the Rajasthan Royals. The duo came together at 78/5 and played some brilliant strokes to stitch an unbeaten 85-run stand. Eventually, they chased down 159 on the penultimate ball of the last over Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bat after winning the toss and lost Jonny Bairstow early. David Warner and Manish Pandey then stitched a 73-run partnership. But the run-rate never went up courtesy some good bowling from the Royals. In an attempt to up the ante, Warner got out on 48 while Pandey scored 54 runs from 44 balls. However, the real impetus was given by Kane Williamson towards the end as SRH added 36 runs off the last 14 balls of the innings. Turning Points Parag-Tewatia partnership: No wonder this was the turning point of the match. The two players came together for the team when there were literally no hopes as the top order had fallen like a pack of cards. But then, they didn’t give up despite the required run-rate going up. They smartly took the attack to the opposition when it wasn’t expected to catch the SRH bowlers surprised. Tewatia was once again at his best playing 360-degree strokes while Parag’s muscle power came to the fore. Even Rashid Khan wasn’t spared as he was taken for 14 runs in the 18th over. In the end, Parag finished it up with a six to break out into a sensational dance. Overview England v Australia, 1st T20I The Ageas Bowl, Southampton Friday, 4 September, 06:00pm local time, 05:00pm GMT If the intra-squad practice matches are anything to go by, a break of five months from international cricket has done nothing to diminish Australia's hunger to perform. The visitors have a problem of plenty. Glenn Maxwell, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey all got hundreds in the practice games. Marcus Stoinis and Aaron Finch have looked good too and with the dangerous David Warner and Steve Smith the batting unit looks formidable. Both the pace and the spin attack look settled. They have also included the uncapped Riley Meredith in the squad. The final instalment of the English international summer should be an enticing one, then, and not simply because of the edge that generally comes with any game between England and Australia. The three T20I matches, which are then followed by three ODIs, pit the number one and two sides in the ICC world rankings against each other and both squads are more or less full strength too, albeit that England are missing Jason Roy and Ben Stokes, two of their first choice players. If the weather holds, the cricket should be high-quality. The most exciting, and fascinating, aspect of the series will be the sight of a coral of genuine quicks trying to stick up for the bowlers in a game dominated by batsmen. For England, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood return to their squad after missing the series against Pakistan while Australia have Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood in their party. All of them are capable of shifting consistently into the 90mph bracket. Normally, batsmen have it much their own way in T20 cricket. Perhaps this series will be different. Remember the last time The two teams last faced each other in T20Is in a one-off encounter in June 2018, which England won by 28 runs after putting up a massive score of 221/5. They haven't met each other in the shortest format since but each team's current form puts them on even ground. Australia have won nine out of their last 11 T20Is and would be itching to get back on the international circuit after a long gap. England too have been doing well and have not lost a single T20I series out of their last six.
