Red Bull’s start to the 2022 Formula 1 season imploded in the final laps, as both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez suffered what appeared to be the same disastrous failure that turned a decent Bahrain Grand Prix for the team into a nightmare. Everything we’d seen up to the point Verstappen’s car ran into trouble suggested Red Bull didn’t have anything for Ferrari and Charles Leclerc in a straight fight, but to go from an expected 30 points for second and fourth, to leaving Bahrain with nothing, was a horror show. #F1 #BahrainGP #MaxVerstappen READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/our-verdict-on-red-bulls-disaster-and-the-f1-2022-opener/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
All eyes were on Red Bull on the final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, following talk of a major upgrade that could transform Formula 1’s competitive order. And while its car changes weren’t as extreme as those deployed by Mercedes at the start of the test - part of which could face a challenge from rivals - it was another salvo in a fierce development war that will rage throughout the 2022 season. Red Bull has refined the design it grabbed the headlines with when the RB18 first broke cover on the opening day of pre-season testing in Barcelona. As always in Formula 1, it’s about taking a design that was already aggressive and making it even more so. #F1testing #F12022 #RedBull Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
McLaren’s pre-season preparations have suffered a blow in Bahrain, with the team finding itself in a “race against time” to complete some vital work before the Formula 1 season begins. McLaren is the first big hitter to be hit by a sustained problem in testing but as we’ll explain in this video, it’s far from the only team to have stumbled in Bahrain. And the honour of the most dramatic setback so far falls to Williams, for a fire that melted its rear suspension and cost it more than half a day’s running. #F1testing #F12022 #BahrainF1test Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
Kevin Magnussen looked to be firmly in the camp of ‘exiled F1 driver’ after he lost his drive at the end of 2020 because Haas needed paying drivers. But with Nikita Mazepin axed between the 2022 pre-season tests, Haas needed a replacement. And it has turned to the same driver it had to move aside for the Russian just over a year ago. In this video we look at how the deal happened, why it makes sense, and what it means for Mick Schumacher #KevinMagnussen #Haas #F12022 READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/life-after-f1-was-really-fun-for-magnussen-but-hes-back/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
The Haas Formula 1 team has named a temporary substitute for ousted driver Nikita Mazepin but the fallout from that split is only just getting started. Haas has terminated its contracts with Russian driver Mazepin and former title sponsor Uralkali in the wake of Russian president Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine. Reserve driver Pietro Fittipaldi will take part in the final pre-season test in Bahrain this week, but the team still needs to decide who will take the seat for the rest of the 2022 season. And beyond sorting out its driver line-up, Haas is facing an unsurprising legal challenge from Uralkali and coming under fire from Mazepin himself. #F1 #Haas #NikitaMazepin READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/mazepin-claims-no-warning-of-f1-axe-before-haas-announcement/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
Formula 1’s second pre-season test kicks off in Bahrain on Thursday and offers the 10 teams their final opportunity to fettle their cars ahead of the first race of the season. Although the test starts after a gap of just 12 days since Barcelona, every team will have some new parts and there’s a possibility that we will see some big changes to some of the cars. But will these changes be profound enough to be considered a b-spec, or even perhaps a new car? With a rapid rate of improvement expected from these brand new cars, the Bahrain test will be the first step in a development war that will rage throughout the season. So what teams can we expect to make the biggest changes? You can follow all the action from the Bahrain test on The Race’s live hub. Not only will you have the latest in terms of lap times and images, but also news and insight from our F1 team at the circuit both trackside and in the paddock. #F1testing #F12022 #Bahrain Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has a monster new Red Bull Racing contract that is the longest on the grid and could well be the most valuable. After winning the 2021 title in dramatic circumstances in Abu Dhabi, Verstappen declared there’s no reason to change teams and that he wanted to stay with Red Bull forever. A new deal to 2028 might well be the start of that. #F1 #MaxVerstappen #RedBull Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
The Haas team could need a new driver and sponsor as the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine spill over into the world of Formula 1. A military attack on Ukraine ordered by Russia’s president Vladimir Putin began on Thursday after a long period of escalating tensions. Within 24 hours it was agreed that September’s planned Russian GP couldn’t go ahead, while Haas was plunged into a difficult situation to resolve with its Russian title sponsor Uralkali and driver Nikita Mazepin. #F1 #NikitaMazepin #Haas READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/who-should-haas-hire-if-it-has-to-replace-mazepin/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
