Sotto played for the Adelaide 36ers of the NBL and has been rumored to be a potential second round pick in the upcoming draft. Kai Sotto has intrigued a lot of NBA scouts which is why he had pre-draft workouts with teams like the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and the Orlando Magic. But will Kai Sotto get selected in the 2022 NBA draft? In his sole season in Australia’s NBL, Kai Sotto averaged 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from deep. Sotto is trying to fulfill his dream of becoming the first full-blooded Filipino in the NBA, potentially joining Fil-american players Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green. The 2022 NBA Draft has been headlined by projected top prospects Chet Holmgren, Paolo Banchero, and Jabari Smith Jr. However, Kai Sotto’s playing experience in Australia could be his ticket to the NBA. The NBL has had a reputation of producing high-quality players such as LaMelo Ball and Josh Giddey over the past couple of years. 6’10 Ousmane Dieng of the New Zealand Breakers is projected lottery pick this year, while prospects like Hugo Besson, Luke Travers, Makur Maker and Ariel Hukporti have also generated draft buzz. Last night with a potential finals matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, Klay Thompson scored the most points he’s scored in three years as the Dubs won a convincing home game. Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy had early indications of the Saints' interest in the talented rookie QB.
