Mark Magsayo vs. Rey Vargas | Boxing fight Highlights #boxing #sports #combat #fight #action

Rey Vargas has achieved the status of a two-division world champion, securing the WBC World Featherweight Champion title after a hard-fought 12-round split decision victory over the reigning champion, Mark Magsayo. This thrilling bout took place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, as part of an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions and broadcasted on SHOWTIME. The judges, Tim Cheatham and David Sutherland, both saw Vargas as the winner with a score of 115-112 on their scorecards, while Jesse Reyes' score of 114-113 favored Magsayo. Notably, all three judges awarded the last two rounds to Vargas, further solidifying his victory. Vargas, with impeccable timing, used his gangly height, precise jab, and effective body shots to overcome a ninth-round knockdown. He managed to keep Magsayo at bay for a significant portion of the fight, showcasing his skills. Reflecting on his victory, Vargas expressed his gratitude, saying, "I'm at a loss for words. I worked hard for this. I want to thank God, my family, and my trainer Nacho Beristain. The first title I won was enjoyable, but this one is special. This win is for me. It was a great fight, and my dad was full of emotion when he spoke to me today." The fight began with a bang, as Magsayo landed a powerful right just 26 seconds into the match, with Vargas responding with rights of his own. As the fight progressed, Vargas established his jab and incorporated the occasional counter left hook. The height disparity between the two fighters posed a challenge for Magsayo. Vargas capitalized on his 5-foot-10½ frame by maintaining distance, which worked to his advantage against Magsayo, who stands at 5-foot-6. Magsayo occasionally lunged forward in an attempt to land significant shots, but Vargas effectively timed his opponent's advances. Through the first four rounds, Vargas managed to land 18 body shots compared to Magsayo's eight. Although Magsayo had his moments, such as a well-placed counter left hook, it seemed that Vargas controlled both the round and the fight with his reach. Magsayo's energy appeared to wane in the sixth round, which Vargas used to his advantage. He relentlessly attacked Magsayo's body with punishing left hooks, causing Magsayo's right arm to drop. In the seventh round, Vargas suffered a cut above his left eyebrow due to a clash of heads. As the eighth round came to a close, Magsayo connected with a solid straight right, prompting his Hall of Fame trainer, Freddie Roach, to encourage him to be more aggressive. In the ninth round, Magsayo closed the distance for the first time, ultimately landing a left to Vargas' body and a crunching short right to his chin, resulting in Vargas being knocked down for the fourth time in his career. Vargas admitted, "It wasn't that effective, but it counts, he did get me there." Magsayo, overflowing with confidence, pressed the attack in the final seconds of the ninth round. Vargas, although getting up from the knockdown, was forced to clinch and move in order to survive the round. During the break between rounds, Beristain cautioned him about Magsayo's inside game. However, in the 10th round, Vargas didn't seem to have fully recovered, and Magsayo failed to capitalize. By the championship rounds, Vargas had regained his composure, while Magsayo needed a knockout to secure a victory. Vargas returned to using his height advantage, maintaining a comfortable distance with his jab and countering Magsayo with sharp left hooks. Magsayo, acknowledging his effort, said, "It's this today, no matter what, I'll come back stronger. I'm disappointed, but I did my best." He reflected on his strategy, mentioning, "When I had him down, the punch was straight, he did his job in the ring, running. I applied the pressure we trained in the gym, but he was taller, and he's the man today. I will rest, watch the fight, and train to fight again, correcting my mistakes for the next time." As for Vargas, he's already eyeing the next big challenge. He stated, "I was in control of the entire fight, except for the ninth when I lost a little control. Now I want the unification bout. I want to fight Leo Santa Cruz. We've already talked about it with my team." #shortsyoutube #shorts #shrotvideo #shortsfeed #shortsviral #pinoy #filipino #philippines #vargas #magsayo #markmagsayo #boxing #boxingvideos #boxingnews #boxingtraining #boxinglife #boxing#boxingvideos #boxingworkout #sports #sportsnews #action #actionsports #actionfigures #bestmoments #best #highlight #highlights #fight #fighting #fightscene #fighter #punch #punching #usa #mexico #combat #combatsports #combatwarriors #filipino #pinoy #mexico #mexican #navarrete #usa #combat #combatsports #fist #warrior #thurman #dannygarcia #shawnporter #showtime #mariobarrios #keiththurman #thurman #lightweight #ukraine #korea #japan #baltimore #maryland #panama #panamá #puertorico #puertorican #bantamweight

Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou | Boxing Fight HIGHLIGHTS #boxing #fury #tysonfury #combat

Tyson Fury remains the reigning champion, but his victory was hard-fought and far from the easy win many had anticipated on his way to a unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia. Fury had to overcome adversity, including being knocked down by Francis Ngannou, who was making his debut in the ring. Fury, who holds the WBC and lineal heavyweight titles, found himself on the defensive for much of the bout as Ngannou aggressively pressed the action. Traditionally, Fury has used his height and weight advantage to clinch with opponents and wear them down, but Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, managed to hold his own in the clinch, landing inside shots and even throwing Fury off at times. The most shocking moment occurred in the third round when Ngannou connected with a left hand that sent Fury to the canvas for a knockdown. Despite showing signs of fatigue in the middle rounds, Ngannou mounted furious comebacks in the later part of the fight, making Fury more hesitant to engage than he had ever been in his undefeated career. Nonetheless, Fury displayed superior boxing skills in most rounds and, while not as dominant as expected, managed to secure a split decision victory with scores of 94-95, 96-93, and 95-94. After the fight, Fury acknowledged the unexpected challenge, saying, "No, that definitely wasn't in the script. He's a hell of a fighter. Strong, a good puncher, and a better boxer than we ever thought he'd be... He's given me one of my hardest fights in the past 10 years." Much of the pre-fight hype centered on Fury's upcoming bout with Usyk to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era, but after the grueling encounter, it appeared Fury might not be eager to stick to the previously planned date of December 23. "I'm going to go home," Fury stated, echoing the sentiment of his promoter, Frank Warren. "I've been in training camp for 12 weeks. Going to go home and take a long rest and decide what's next." For Ngannou, this fight was undeniably a major victory. He not only survived 10 rounds against the lineal heavyweight champion but also managed to score a knockdown and even won on one of the official scorecards. Many experts had predicted a one-sided contest, but Ngannou's performance demonstrated his resilience and potential in the boxing world. "I'm feeling great," Ngannou declared post-fight. "I'm feeling fantastic. It didn't go my way. I might come up short today. I might be wounded, but I'll come back... Now I know I can do this. Get ready. A wolf is in the house." #tysonfury #TYSONFURYVSFRANCIS #tyson #fight #shorts #shortvideo #shortvideos #shortsfeed #boxing #boxingvideos #boxingnews #boxingtraining #boxinglife #boxing#boxingvideos #boxingworkout #sports #sportsnews #action #actionsports #actionfigures #bestmoments #best #highlight #highlights #fight #fighting #fightscene #fighter #punch #punching #usa #mexico #combat #combatsports #combatwarriors #filipino #pinoy #mexico #mexican #navarrete #usa #combat #combatsports #fist #warrior #thurman #dannygarcia #shawnporter #showtime
