Dimitar Berbatov: Why I Chose Man United Over Man City! | Stick to United EP 8
Stick to United with Wayne Rooney is back for episode eight, and this week Dimitar Berbatov joins Wayne and Mark Goldbridge! 👹 Manchester United legend Berbatov sits down with his former teammate to look back on their time together at Old Trafford, brought to you by Disney+. Wayne reveals just how excited he was when United signed Berbatov, while the pair remember competing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez in one of the most exciting forward lines in the club’s history. Berbatov takes us inside his dramatic deadline-day move from Tottenham, revealing why the transfer became a “nightmare”, how Manchester City tried to sign him at the last minute and why he even gave up part of his salary to complete his dream move to United. The pair also revisit the 2011 Champions League final, with Berbatov reflecting on the pain of being left out of the squad and Wayne revealing the shock among the United players when they discovered he wasn’t involved. Plus, Berba reacts to Rooney asking to leave the club in 2010 and explains why his response was simply: “No problem, I’ll score the goals.” Elsewhere, Berbatov discusses the art of the first touch, why “football is a simple game for smart people”, the problems facing the current Manchester United side and his thoughts on former teammate Michael Carrick as manager. With the honeymoon period over, can Carrick bring the good times back to Old Trafford? Badminton Ready Position: Thailand vs Korea vs Singapore vs Italy
Same ready position. Four completely different auras. Thailand — racket spinning in the fingers, wrists barely attached, relaxed before the serve is even up. Korea — split step on a metronome, racket already high, hasn't blinked since the warm-up. Singapore — one hand on the hip, racket tapping the shoe, half the brain on where everyone's eating after. Italy — racket as a conductor's baton, both hands talking, still appealing a line call from two rallies ago. One of these is me. Not saying which. Which one is your club? #badminton #badmintonskit #readyposition #badmintonshorts #featherballer
The Manager Who Forced OUT Two GOATS 💔
In the space of a few months — Jorge Jesus managed to push out two of the greatest footballers of their generation. First Neymar. Then Ronaldo. NEYMAR — Jesus was appointed Brazil manager before the 2026 World Cup. One of his first major decisions was to question whether Neymar — coming back from injury — deserved a starting spot. After the World Cup he admitted that Neymar's introduction against Norway destabilised Brazil's structure. The message was clear — Neymar was not in Jesus's plans. Neymar announced his international retirement shortly after. RONALDO — Jesus called him up for the Nations League. Started him against Wales. Substituted him in the 67th minute. Then against Norway — Portugal's biggest group game — Jesus promised Ronaldo he would bring him on from the bench. He never did. Today Ronaldo walked out of the camp. 146 goals. 234 caps. Didn't get 10 minutes against Norway. Two legends. Two exits. One manager. Jesus has never won a major international trophy. He has never managed at a World Cup. And in the space of one international window — he has alienated the two most iconic players in Brazilian and Portuguese football history. He says there is no rift with Ronaldo. He says Neymar's departure was mutual. But the results speak louder than his press conferences. Neymar retired. Ronaldo walked out. Jorge Jesus was the last thing both of them needed. PORTUGAL BETRAYED THEIR GREATEST EVER PLAYER 💔
Cristiano Ronaldo has left Portugal's training camp. TODAY. This is what happened. Jorge Jesus confirmed in a press conference that Ronaldo would not start against Denmark on Thursday — and might not even come on. Ronaldo didn't train with his teammates after that. He then posted on Instagram in Portuguese — "After the press conference of the national team, and following a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have made the decision to leave the national team training camp." And then — the line that stops everything. "In time, I will tell the Portuguese people the truth about the reasons." 234 caps. 146 goals. The most capped player and highest scorer in the history of men's international football. He started Portugal's 1-0 win over Wales — substituted in the 67th minute. Then against Norway he wasn't even brought on. Jorge Jesus said he had a plan for him from the bench. He never used it. Ronaldo is 41 years old. He needs 854 career goals to reach 1,000. He is still chasing history. And he just walked out of his national team camp because his manager didn't trust him enough to play him. Is this the end of Ronaldo and Portugal? He says he will tell the truth one day. That sentence alone means there is a story nobody is being told right now. Portugal play Denmark tomorrow. Without their greatest ever player. 💬 Was Ronaldo right to leave?
