Elles permettent aux photographes de capturer des images en très gros plan sans être gênés par les reflets ou les déformations du verre. Mais cette position est aussi extrêmement risquée. Lorsque les joueurs foncent vers la balustrade ou qu’un palet arrive à pleine vitesse, les photographes doivent refermer l’ouverture en une fraction de seconde pour éviter que leur objectif ou leur appareil ne soit violemment percuté.
