Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 23 points and nine assists for the Thunder, who coolly improved to 7-0 - both in these playoffs overall, and in their seven games this season against LeBron James and the Lakers. Oklahoma City is the NBA's sixth defending champion to start 7-0 in the following postseason after three wins over short-handed Los Angeles by a combined 59 points. James had 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds, while Austin Reaves had 17 points and nine assists. But both stars struggled from the field to a combined 12 for 32, and 21 points from Rui Hachimura weren't enough to keep LA in contention with the champs. Except for Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder all began Game 3 in another shooting groove. Los Angeles still surged to a small halftime lead behind 16 points from Hachimura. Oklahoma City erased that lead with a methodical surge out of halftime, going up by 13 in the third quarter. Third-leading scorer Jalen Williams missed his fifth straight game for the Thunder with a strained hamstring. Game 4 is Monday night in Los Angeles.

Nebraska Softball Wins the Big Ten Tournament
Press Release Courtesy of Nebraska Athletics- The No. 2 Nebraska softball team won its second Big Ten title of the season, notching a 7-2 victory over the No. 6 UCLA Bruins in the 2026 Big Ten Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon in College Park, Md. Nebraska also won the 2026 Big Ten regular-season title, as it posted a 23-1 record in Big Ten play this season. This is the Huskers’ second Big Ten Tournament title since joining the conference, as NU also won in 2022. It is the ninth time in school history that the Big Red has won a regular-season and tournament championship in the same season. The title marks the 22nd overall conference title and 11th conference tournament title in school history. NU now sits at 46-6 on the season, while UCLA fell to 47-8. Hannah Camenzind logged the two-RBI single that gave NU the lead in the third inning, while Ava Kuszak and Kacie Hoffmann added home runs. Emmerson Cope, Jesse Farrell and Samantha Bland contributed hits. Jordy Frahm (18-4) grabbed the win in the circle, as she threw a complete game with five hits, two runs and eight strikeouts. UCLA struck first with a run in each of the second and third innings. NU posted a three-run bottom of the third. Cope opened the inning with a single and Kennadi Williams pinch ran for her. Hoffmann was hit by a pitch and Katelyn Caneda pinch ran for her. With Williams on second and Caneda on first, L. Camenzind sac bunted to put runners in scoring position. Frahm was intentionally walked but called out due to runner’s interference on a Coor fielder’s choice. H. Camenzind singled to send Williams, Caneda and Coor across the plate and give NU a 3-2 edge. In the bottom of the fourth, Bland singled and Hoffmann knocked a two-run shot to right field to extend the lead to 5-2. Kuszak added a homer in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 6-2. Jesse Farrell singled and Bland walked before a Hoffmann groundout put runners on second and third. L. Camenzind reached on an error that also scored Nessa McMillen, who pinch ran for Farrell and stretched the lead to 7-2. Jordy Frahm was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament, and Samantha Bland, Hannah Camenzind and Alexis Jensen were all named to the All-Tournament Team. Nebraska will find out its postseason fate at the NCAA Softball Selection Show, which is set to air at 6 p.m. (CT) on ESPN2 tomorrow, May 10. NU will host a watch party for fans with players and coaches at Bowlin Stadium. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and admission is free. Notes This is the ninth time in program history that Nebraska has won the conference regular season and tournament titles in the same season. This is NU’s 11th conference tournament championship and 22nd overall conference championship. It is Nebraska’s second Big Ten Tournament title. The Huskers have nine wins over ranked teams this year. Nebraska now has a 21-game win streak, which is the longest active win streak in the country. The A’s didn’t stroll into Baltimore tonight wearing tuxedos and playing smooth jazz. They walked in with steel-toed boots and survived a nine-inning alley fight. After getting bottled up early by Kyle Bradish, the offense finally cracked the game open in the fifth inning behind clutch at-bats from Max Schuemann, Lawrence Butler, Zack Gelof, and the massive swing from Nick Kurtz, whose two-run triple flipped the entire night on its head. That was the moment the game changed. The A’s stopped playing reactive baseball and started dictating the tempo against one of the toughest lineups in the American League. And then came the stress. Of course it came with stress. Because nothing involving the A’s bullpen is allowed to feel normal. Jeffrey Springs and the relief corps spent the late innings trying to navigate around Adley Rutschman, Pete Alonso, and a Baltimore lineup that kept threatening to rip the game away. Mason Miller wasn’t there riding in on a white horse tonight, so the A’s had to win the hard way — with strikeouts, ugly outs, and enough nerve to survive a ninth inning that felt like somebody trying to parallel park a shopping cart downhill.
