What Really Happened to Kelvin Kiptum? The Untold Story of His Fatal Car Crash

Kelvin Kiptum was a Kenyan long-distance runner and the marathon world record holder at the time of his death. He is the only person in history to run the marathon in less than two hours and one minute in a record-eligible race. He ran three of the seven fastest marathons in history. He died in a road accident in Kenya on 11 February 2024, along with his coach Gervais Hakizimana. He was 24 years old. He was considered a rising star and a rival to compatriot Eliud Kipchoge, one of the greatest marathon runners. He had been named in Kenya’s provisional marathon team for the Paris Olympics later that year. He was also a father of two children. His death was mourned by many people in the sports world and beyond.
