Pakistan captain Babar Azam is also available for a few matches. In the matches played yesterday, Blackstone defeated HB Lal by 5 wickets and Khawar Properties defeated Ishal Associates by 5 runs. In the first match, HB Lal batted first and scored 224 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ali Shahid was the top scorer with 77 runs off 40 balls while Afaq Shahid scored 37 runs off 23 balls and Mohammad Akhlaq was outstanding with 34 runs off 20 balls. Aamir scored 22 off 7 balls and Usman scored 20 runs off 8 balls. From Blackstone, Test fast bowler Mohammad Amir got 1 wicket by giving 37 runs in 4 overs while international cricketer Amir Yameen got 41 runs in 4 overs and he could not get any wicket. Nasir Ahmed took 2 wickets for 64 runs in 4 overs and Rao Daniyal took 2 wickets for 47 runs in 4 overs. Blackstone achieved the target of 225 runs for the loss of 5 wickets on the fourth ball of the 20th over. Hassan Nawaz was the top scorer by scoring 91 runs off 42 balls, while Azim Dar scored 45 off 31 balls and Mohammad Saleem scored 33 runs off 22 balls. Hammad also scored 30 not out runs in 18 balls. In the second match, Khawar Properties batted first and scored 222 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. International cricketer Asif Ali played a lightning fast innings of 80 runs off 37 balls. Haseebullah scored 37 runs off 28 balls, Irfan Khan Niazi scored 32 off 14 balls, Hasan Ali scored 15 off 7 balls and Mehran Mumtaz scored 17 off 9 balls. Khushdal Shah scored 9 runs in an over and managed to get one wicket. Dilbar Hussain 2 for 47 runs, Khurram Shahzad 4 for 35 runs, Abrar Ahmed 1 for 44 runs and Daniyal Ahmed 51 runs in 4 overs and got one wicket. Bismillah Khan from Ishal Properties was the top scorer with 92 runs off 40 balls. His innings included 13 fours and 4 sixes. Umar Akmal could score only one run. Qasim Akram scored 30 runs off 24 balls. Khushdal Shah's courage was also answered for only 3 runs. Shehryar scored 39 runs off 26 balls, Shahzeb Bhatti scored 16 runs off 18 balls and Ahmed Daniyal scored 9 runs off 4 balls. In 20 overs with 27 extra runs, Ishal Properties team could only score 217 runs. Hasan Ali scored 69 runs in 4 overs, Kashif Ali took 3 wickets by giving 26 runs in 4 overs. Zahid Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he scalped 4 wickets in 33 overs and Naseem Shah extracted three wickets. In response to 657 runs Pakistan reacted well as Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq started batting sensibly and returned unbeaten at the end of the day. They will look to keep their momentum going today. Naseem Shah was impressive amidst the carnage as he picked up 3 wickets for 140 runs in 24 overs. The other debutant Mohammad Ali picked up a couple of wickets for 124 runs in 24 overs. The other wicket went to Haris Rauf who did not take the field due to an injury in his calf and one hopes that won't be serious. After giving away 657 Pakistan needed a solid start from their openers and they got that from the dynamic duo of Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq. They started cautiously and stepped on the accelerator against the spinners and at the end of the day they remained unbeaten. They have got to 181/0 after 51 overs. Shafique is batting on 89* off 158 balls and giving him amazing company is Imam-ul-Haq on 90* off 148 balls. 2 extras have been given by the English bowlers as they stay unbeaten when the players go off the field due to bad light. LAHORE: David Wiese's last-over heroics at the Gaddafi Stadium against Islamabad United took Lahore Qalandars to a six-run victory and to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final. The do-or-die match between the two sides was a staggering see-saw battle as both were unwilling to give up till the very end, as fans witnessed one of the most scintillating contests in the history of PSL. While chasing the target, Pual Sterling, who returned to the franchise after a national duty, smacked Shaheen Shah Afridi for 14 runs in the first over. But Shaheen roared back brilliantly in the third over as he dismissed him as well as Will Jacks with Haris Rauf taking catches on both occasions. Shadab Khan was also dismissed for 14, and Liam Dawson was also sent packing for 12 runs. At this point, Lahore was in the driver's seat having put United under the pump. But after that, Azam Khan and Alex Hales forged a brilliant 79-run partnership which brought United back into the game. They both played sensibly as they were hitting boundaries as well as rotating the strike and it looked like the game was in United's pocket. But an unbelievable fielding effort brought Lahore back into the game when Hales cut the ball and tried to take a single and Rauf's brilliant direct hit sent Azam back for 40 runs off 28 balls with two sixes and three fours. The United will now clash with Lahore Qalandars in eliminator 2 tomorrow (Friday) — and the winner of the match will face Multan Sultans in the final. In the last over, United required 10 runs, and Azam Khan got out on the first ball, after that, Liam Dawson finished the thrilling clash with ease as he smacked a six and four on the next two balls. The do-or-die match between the two teams was a see-saw battle with both teams unwilling to give up till the very end. The Zalmi bowlers were on target with their line, as they removed opener Will Jacks for 11 runs. Alex Hales announced his return with a bang as he kept the run-chase intact and played according to the situation. United was cruising at one stage with Hales looking well set, but it was Salman Irshad's two wickets that brought Zalmi back into the game. He removed Hales with a brilliant yorker and took the wicket of dangerous-looking Shadab Khan for 22 runs and Asif Ali, who was on seven.
