The day will continue with Pakistan at 181/0. As they still have a long way to go Pakistan which is now trailing England by 476 runs in the first inning will try to catch up to their total. Imam-ul-Haq is batting at 90 runs off 148 balls and Abdullah Shafique is now playing at 89 runs off 158 balls. On this flat wicket both batters will try to continue checking all the boxes and aid their team in catching up to England's score. Earlier in the first inning England were bundled for 657 runs in 101 overs. Harry Brook was their top scorer as he amassed a quick 153 runs off 116 balls. Zak Crawley Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope were the other three centurions for England. Zahid Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he scalped 4 wickets in 33 overs and Naseem Shah extracted three wickets. In response to 657 runs Pakistan reacted well as Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq started batting sensibly and returned unbeaten at the end of the day. They will look to keep their momentum going today. It will be interesting to see how the pitch behaves today will it provide some help to the bowlers today as it was totally in favor of the batters on the first two days? Day 2 Overview So that will be Stumps on Day 2 in Rawalpindi as bad light expectedly halts play and stops proceedings. It was another day where bat has overwhelmingly dominated the ball on a lifeless track and at the end of the day England has the runs on the board despite Pakistan making a strong start to their innings. Day 2 began with England at 506/4 with Harry Brook and skipper Ben Stokes at the crease. Stokes went for 41 off 18 balls after hitting a six to start his day. Harry Brook carried on his merry ways as he plundered 27 runs off the Zahid Maqsood over as he scored a breathtaking 153 off 116 balls. Cameos from Will Jacks 30 off 29 balls and Ollie Robinson 37 off 50 balls alongside 15 extras given by the Pakistani bowlers propelled England to 657 in 101 overs. They lost 6/151 this morning in no time. Zahid Maqsood was the most expensive bowler on display. But he stuck it out there and picked up 4 wickets for 235 runs in 33 overs. Naseem Shah was impressive amidst the carnage as he picked up 3 wickets for 140 runs in 24 overs. The other debutant Mohammad Ali picked up a couple of wickets for 124 runs in 24 overs. The other wicket went to Haris Rauf who did not take the field due to an injury in his calf and one hopes that won't be serious. After giving away 657 Pakistan needed a solid start from their openers and they got that from the dynamic duo of Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq. They started cautiously and stepped on the accelerator against the spinners and at the end of the day they remained unbeaten. They have got to 181/0 after 51 overs. Shafique is batting on 89* off 158 balls and giving him amazing company is Imam-ul-Haq on 90* off 148 balls. 2 extras have been given by the English bowlers as they stay unbeaten when the players go off the field due to bad light. So Pakistan still trails by 476 runs with 10 wickets in hand with 3 days of play left. A lot of hard work awaits both teams when we come back tomorrow. Will the pitch do something tomorrow? LAHORE: David Wiese's last-over heroics at the Gaddafi Stadium against Islamabad United took Lahore Qalandars to a six-run victory and to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final. The do-or-die match between the two sides was a staggering see-saw battle as both were unwilling to give up till the very end, as fans witnessed one of the most scintillating contests in the history of PSL. While chasing the target, Pual Sterling, who returned to the franchise after a national duty, smacked Shaheen Shah Afridi for 14 runs in the first over. But Shaheen roared back brilliantly in the third over as he dismissed him as well as Will Jacks with Haris Rauf taking catches on both occasions. Shadab Khan was also dismissed for 14, and Liam Dawson was also sent packing for 12 runs. At this point, Lahore was in the driver's seat having put United under the pump. But after that, Azam Khan and Alex Hales forged a brilliant 79-run partnership which brought United back into the game. They both played sensibly as they were hitting boundaries as well as rotating the strike and it looked like the game was in United's pocket. But an unbelievable fielding effort brought Lahore back into the game when Hales cut the ball and tried to take a single and Rauf's brilliant direct hit sent Azam back for 40 runs off 28 balls with two sixes and three fours. Hales was also removed just after Azam when Kamran Ghulam took a great jumping catch of Rauf's bowling who was right on the money in today's game. The topsy-turvy match also took another turn when Asif Ali got the reprieve as Shaheen dismissed him but overstepped. Asif then hit a six to bring the game closer and was dismissed by Rauf for 25 runs when United were eight runs behind. In the last over, eight runs were required with Wasim on strike, and David Wiese held his nerves. Wasim was run out and Waqas was caught at the boundary as Wiese picked the last wicket to take Lahore to the final as the heart-wrenching clash came to an end. In terms of bowling for Lahore, Rauf was brilliant with figures of 2-31 in four overs, Shaheen took 2-32 in four overs, while Zaman also took two and Wiese one. Earlier, David Wiese's three sixes and one four in the last over have helped Lahore Qalandars post a fighting 168-run total in the do-or-die eliminator two. Lahore after deciding to bat first, got off to the bad start as the in-form Fakhar Zaman was removed by Liam Dawson who bowled a brilliant new-ball spell. After that, Abdullah with Kamran Ghulam forged a crucial 73-run stand for the third wicket to steer the inning against a good bowling attack of United. Ghulam rotated the strike to keep the scoreboard ticking, while Abdullah took the attack against the opponent bowlers as he notched three sixes and four fours in a 28 ball knock. After Abdullah's dismissal by Waqas Masqsood, United got the dominant hand over Lahore as they made it difficult for their battles to carve out quick runs. They also displayed brilliant fielding as Harry Brook was run-out by a brilliant throw from Muhammad Wasim, and Samit Patel was caught by Muhammad Huraira who took a brilliant running catch.
