#Shreyas#Gopal#bags#maiden#hat-trick#in #IPL,#becomes#2nd#bowler#to#achieve #feat#this#season Shreyas Gopal bagged his maiden hat-trick in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He became the second bowler after Sam Curran to take a hat-trick this season. The leg-spinner picked up important wickets of AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Marcus Stoinis to halt RCB's rampaging start after the hosts were off to a flyer with Kohli and AB garnering 23 runs off the first over. The rain-affected fixture saw a late start as the match was reduced to a five-over a side clash after a delay of almost 3.5 hours due to heavy downpour in Bengaluru. Kohli and AB got off to a sensational start as the RCB skipper went after Varun Aaron right from the first delivery tonking him for a six. He slammed another six of the next delivery before AB got two boundaries to finish the over with 23 runs from it Kohli continued his blitzkrieg against Gopal in the second over as he lofted a flighted first delivery into the stands for a six before getting a boundary off the next ball. Kohli then took a couple of the next ball before Gopal got him caught by Liam Livingstone trying to hit a six. Gopal dismissed Kohli for the second time in this season. On the next delivery, AB was caught by Riyan Parag before Marcus Stoinis was caught on a duck by Steve Smith as Gopal became the fourth Rajasthan Royals bowler to bag a hat-trick in the IPL. RCB batting line-up suffered a spectacular collapse after Gopal's hat-trick as the hosts lost 4 wickets inside 26 runs to be restricted on 62/7 in five overs. While Gopal picked up three wickets, Oshane Thomas bagged a couple of wickets for the Royals. Sanju Samson and Liam Livingstone got Rajasthan off to a flyer with a 41-run stand in 20 balls before Samson was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.

Arsenal beat Newcastle at Emirates Stadium to move above Manchester United and north London rivals Tottenham and go third in the Premier League. Aaron Ramsey, who had an earlier effort disallowed following a foul, put the hosts ahead with a fine low strike from 15 yards out. Newcastle's Matt Ritchie produced a diving header on the goalline to deny Alexandre Lacazette, but the Frenchman doubled Arsenal's lead late on when he calmly lofted the ball over goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. ==================================== ★☆★BUY THE NEW STADIUM TRAINING SHIRT 2018/19★☆★ https://goo.gl/wGcjKb ★☆★Like My Facebook Page★☆★ https://goo.gl/w74PKp ★☆★Please Support My Channel By Becoming A Patron★☆★ https://goo.gl/rofbvg ★☆★Follow Me On Instagram For More Exclusive Content★☆★ https://goo.gl/zsBRzp ★☆★Follow Me On Twitter★☆★ https://goo.gl/jvOcpA #Arsenal #Newcastle #PremierLeague #Football #FootballNews #Gunners

An under-par Celtic display, coupled with spirited resistance from Aberdeen, contributed to a tight League Cup final. Aberdeen emerge from this game with credit but Celtic demonstrated that valuable commodity of earning victory when not at peak level. A single-goal victory means Rodgers retains his record of winning every Scottish competition placed in front of him. The first half was most notable for a sickening incident. Gary Mackay-Steven leapt to connect with a Shay Logan cross, but the Aberdeen winger was instead involved in a clash of heads with Dedryck Boyata. The reaction of other players illustrated what trouble Mackay-Steven was in; after six minutes of treatment he left the field on a stretcher. Boyata was able to play on, albeit with head heavily bandaged. Celtic v Aberdeen: Scottish League Cup final – live! Read more Aberdeen’s plan to sit deep and frustrate Celtic had largely worked during that opening period. Tom Rogic clipped an Aberdeen post with a 20-yard effort and James Forrest screwed wide but Celtic were pretty punchless. Not that Aberdeen offered much more in a taut first half, save a Dominic Ball effort which flew high over the crossbar. Perhaps there was no surprise, then, that Celtic’s breakthrough arrived by virtue of going back to basics during lengthy stoppage time. Boyata lofted the ball from halfway towards Ryan Christie, whose run from midfield was not matched by Graeme Shinnie. Christie’s first shot was smartly saved by Joe Lewis but the Celtic player retained his footing sufficiently to scoop the rebound into Aberdeen’s net. The second half was considerably more open. There was also controversy; that Celtic were awarded a penalty for an alleged Ball handling offence was wrong both because there was no such infringement and said incident occurred outside the penalty area. Lewis partly spared the blushes of Andrew Dallas, the referee, by batting Scott Sinclair’s spot-kick away. Jozo Simunovic, in his first action after replacing the injured Boyata, shanked an attempted clearance against his own bar. Filip Benkovic and Sinclair came close to doubling Celtic’s lead. Aberdeen lacked nothing whatsoever in character but, not for the first time this season, hardly looked potent. Set-pieces appeared Aberdeen’s best hope of salvation; from one, Scott McKenna flicked a header narrowly wide. West Indies crumble against spin after Bangladesh rack up 508 West Indies 75 for 5 (Hetmyer 32*, Mehidy 3-36) trail Bangladesh 508 (Mahmudullah 136, Shakib 80) by 433 runs After keeping West Indies on the field for most of the first two days to score 508 runs in their first innings, Bangladesh didn't allow any let-ups with the ball. Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan took five wickets in the first 12 overs of the visitors' reply, recording a first in Test history in the process, as the first five batsmen were all bowled to spinners. Mehidy took three wickets while Shakib took the other two to fall in a dominant day for the home side. From start to finish on day two, Bangladesh made all the running, culminating in a gasping last hour and 40 minutes that ended with West Indies on 75 for 5. Kraigg Brathwaite has had a torrid time in this tour so far, this time Shakib Al Hasan's arm-ball cutting between his bat and pad to hand him a duck. Mehidy did a similar thing to Kieran Powell, using the round-the-wicket angle to get through his bat and pad. Things turned from bad to worse for West Indies in the ninth over when Sunil Ambris missed a full Shakib delivery with an ambitious lofted drive, but he was nowhere near the pitch of the ball. Roston Chase played down the wrong line to a Mehidy delivery that spun past his forward prod. In Mehidy's next over, West Indies slipped to 29 for 5, the lowest score against Bangladesh at five wickets down, when Shai Hope was completely undone by one that kept very low. Shimron Hetmyer and Shane Dowrich, who batted well in the Chattogram Test too, salvaged the visitors in a 46-run stand for the unbroken sixth wicket. It was the only respite on a day when nothing really went their way. For most of the day, it was Mahmudullah's sturdy 136 that held Bangladesh together. He lasted six hours and 16 minutes at the crease, which took the home side through some crucial phases from the first to the second afternoon. Shadman Islam had earlier done the initial hard work through his impressive 76 on the first day, but after he and Mushfiqur fell in a short span, Mahmudullah dug deep. He added 111 runs for the sixth wicket with Shakib who went on a boundary-spree early on the second morning, hitting five of his six fours. He made 80 off 139 balls before giving gully a straightforward catch off Kemar Roach. Liton Das followed in Shakib's footsteps, attacking the West Indies bowlers in a first session in which Bangladesh added 128 runs in 25 overs. Liton, who made 54 off 62 balls with eight fours and a six, fell soon after the lunch break, and was followed by Mehidy Hasan back to the dressing room. Mahmudullah then took 30 balls to get through the nineties and into his century, but it was a crucial phase in which he and Taijul added 56 runs in 20.5 overs. Taijul lasted 91 minutes before getting caught behind off Kraigg Brathwaite, who had earlier bowled Liton, before Nayeem Hasan and Mahmudullah frustrated West Indies for a further 9.2 overs in their tenth-wicket stand. For the visitors, Kemar Roach, Devendra Bsihoo, Warrican and Brathwaite took two wickets each while there was one each for Shermon Lewis and Roston Chase.
