Welcome back guys! After Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani inspired Man Utd to a comeback vs. Southampton with an assist & two goals. We could see him start regularly in Solskjaer’s side. So let’s take a look at why Cavani is the perfect number nine to lead Man United’s attacking line this season. First let’s take a look at how Edinson Cavani offers something different. Cavani offers a unique option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer through the middle. Manchester United’s forward options are all slight, pacey forwards who prefer to move away from the ball and attack the space in behind and whilst Martial does drop off and link the play, he can be dominated physically. Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani is a proper number nine with over a decade of experience playing up against some of the best defenders in the world. His physical frame and experience make him an ideal back to goal striker as he understands how and when to make himself available as a target to play up to. Edinson Cavani’s mixture of world class hold up play & off the ball movement has been evident in Man Utd’s last two games. Against Istanbul Bashiksheer when United’s deepest players were pressed high, he would often drop off into number 10 as an option to play to. Sometimes he’d play to the midfielders but often he’d play back to a defender, safety first. But regardless of the target, Cavani would play accurate, one touch passes. He completed 23 out of his 24 passes against Istanbul Bashiksheer with a completion rate of 96%. Tidy play but he was still instrumental in United’s attacking play. Cavani’s second half performance in the 3-2 turnaround at Southampton showed he’s still got razor sharp instincts and the will to win matches. Take his assist for Bruno. Ward-Prowse with the ball. He plays to Adams who gets dispossessed by Fred. Wan-Bissaka plays to Cavani who drops it back to Fred. The Brazillian does well to escape pressure and goes back to Wan-Bissaka who plays wide to Cavani. The Uruguayan then picks out Bruno Fernandes with a pinpoint pass who gives United a lifeline. As much as this was good play, several players in the United squad could have taken Cavani’s place in this goal. What only Cavani can do is score his goals. His instincts as a goalscorer are phenomenal and he’s excellent in the air. As proven in the equaliser and winner against Southampton. #EdinsonCavani #Cavani #ManUtd Socials: 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StatmanDave 📸Instagram: http://bit.ly/StatmanInsta 🖥See more at https://statmandave.com ________________________________________________________________________ ► Artist Attribution Music By: "After The Fall" Track Name: "Pieces (Extended Version)" • ATF LinkTree - https://linktr.ee/AftertheFall • DOWNLOAD @ https://www.chilloutmedia.com/atf License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) - Full license here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... • Music released by: Chill Out Records @ https://goo.gl/fh3rEJ & https://www.LoFi-HipHop.com • (C) Copyright Notice: This is FREE (Royalty Free Music) that has been publicly released by Chill Out Records - No Copyright Music (Chill Out Records LLC) for use by content creators within their own YouTube and TikTok Musical.ly videos. What a Sunday we witnessed in the Indian premier league 2020. 3 super overs and 2 results, the fans couldn’t have asked for more. Kings xi Punjab held on to their lifeline and have now joined the bottom 4 of the table which looks like its set for a close finish when we head to the business end of the tournament. Match 37 between the Chennai super kings and the Rajasthan royals might as well be the last competitive match that Chennai super kings find themselves in this ipl 2020. The Chennai super kings find themselves in an unfamiliar place at the bottom of the table and it would seem they need a miracle to get themselves at the top 4 especially after Kolkata knight riders’ victory yesterday. Csk has been having many problems especially their middle order batting and bowling options, what was once their strength has now come to bite them as an aging team as cost them at least 4 points this ipl 2020. Rajasthan royals on the other hand have been showing some promise but are still in the same spot as csk find themselves. Their main top 4 players haven’t fired as yet and they would be trying to make amends after their close encounter with the royal challengers Bangalore. Both the teams have been warming the seat for the last 3 teams and now it’s a question whether they go out and play for pride or pray to god that a miracle helps them to overcome this phase and head to the knockouts. One thing is for sure though, the team that loses this encounter will certainly be out of the tournament and thereby this might be an exciting affair for what its worth. Al Sadd football players appreciate health workers in unique way To show their appreciation for the frontline medical staff who have worked tirelessly to keep us all safe and well in Qatar, Al Sadd lined up for their match against Al Khor in white doctor's jackets . Al Sadd helped by a brace from Qatar international Akram Afif defeated Al Khor 2-1 in Week 18 of the 2019-20 season QNB Stars League at the Al Sadd Stadium on Saturday, while in the second match leaders Duhail SC were held to one-all draw by Umm Salal. Al Sadd, the reigning champions QSL moved to 35 points with their 11th victory. Afif, the 2019 AFC Player of the Year struck in the 25th and 45+2 minutes. On the other hand, Al Khor, whose only goal was scored by Tiago Bezerra in the 27th minute, stood on 14 points following their 10th defeat. Yet, Al Sadd’s chances of retaining the title are remote as they are eight points adrift of leaders Al Duhail. Meanwhile, Al Khor still stare at relegation as only Al Shahania are behind them in the rankings. Al Sadd had beaten Al Khor by an identical margin in their first-leg match. Al Sadd enjoyed 59 per cent possession after both halves. The Wolves surged ahead as a result of the culmination of a move that originated from Baghdad Bounedjah. Akram was then fed through a backheeled pass by Abdulaziz Al Ansari and the former made no mistake in beating Al Khor goalkeeper Baba Djibril. Al Khor struck back in no time as Tiago capitalised on a momentary lapse by the Al Sadd defenders in judging the flight of an oncoming through pass and the Brazilian found the target past goalkeeper Saad Al Dossari. What turned out to be the winning goal was scored by Akram off a free-kick taken by Nam Tae-Hee as the first half drew to a close. The match failed to produce any other goal despite the efforts by Al Sadd’s Pedro Miguel, Boualem Khoukhi, Nam and Bounedjah, and Al Khor’s Ahmed Hammoudan and Lucca Borges. Al Sadd had Al Dossari to thank for as he saved a penalty kick taken by Tiago in the dying moments of the game (90+3), referee Hamad Al Subaie awarding it when Al Dossari brought down Tiago in the area. At the Al Janoub Stadium, Al Duhail dropped two crucial points in their bid to win the league, which resumed after a long break forced by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. After a barren first half, Al Duhail opened the scoring through Almoez Ali in the 49th minute (penalty), a lead that was neutralised by Umm Salal through Ayyoub Azzi in the 52nd minute. Al Duhail now have 43 points (13 wins, four draws and one defeat), while Umm Salal earned a lifeline in their bid to stay in the First Division. They have 15 points from three victories, six draws and nine defeats. Al Duhail had beaten Umm Salal 1-0 in the first leg of 2019-20 QNB Stars League, so it was an improved performance by the latter who have improved under Moroccan Aziz Ben Askar, himself their former defender. Al Duhail, coached by Ben Askar’s countryman Walid Regragui, dominated possession (60 per cent), but Umm Salal put up a spirited fight right throughout. The closest Al Duhail came to scoring in the first half was in the 21st minute when Han Kwang-Song’s rising shot hit against the left upright after Umm Salal goalkeeper Baba Malick failed to get his hand on to the swerving ball. Han then sent his shot over and Yousef Msakni had his shot deflected wide by the rival defence. At the other end, Umm Salal’s Walid Mesloub failed to find the target with his free-kick from the left. Almoez took Al Duhail ahead not long after the resumption of play by converting a penalty, which was awarded when Abdulrahman Mohammed’s shot was handled by Umm Salal’s Omar Yahya. Umm Salal soon drew parity as Ayoub Azzi headed in Mesloub’s corner from the left, beating the challenge of Sultan Al Breik. Al Duhail’s Almoez headed over and Umm Salal’s Mahmoud Al Mawas’ placing shot was saved by goalkeeper Mohammed Al Bakri as both sides settled for a draw.
