Awful pace, a car that was apparently ‘very very difficult to drive’ and a P14 and P15 for the two drivers. And that would have been P18 and 19 if the three Red Bull engines had held together. But they’ve had one hell of a resurgence, with Lando getting a podium in Imola and some strong results in Australia. So what have they changed for the Emilia Romagna GP? And where are they going from here? Well, this story with the McLaren starts in Bahrain - where we were all wondering if the McLarens were going to be the backmarkers for this year. They only beat Latifi and Hulk (in a car he had never driven before) - and yes the Red Bulls and Gasly who all DNF’d. If you look at Qualifying, their delta to the fastest cars in Qualifying was about a second and a half. Then, looking at race pace - the delta was a little bigger. Now, this is harder to tell in the race, with traffic, degrading tyres and the list goes on. But you can see that the McLaren is consistently a way off the pace. Die Silly Season der Formel 1 hat begonnen! Oscar Piastri ist ohne Stammcockpit, Fernando Alonso möchte noch einige Jahre fahren - kommt es zum Wechsel mit Sebastian Vettel und Aston Martin? Alonso muss bleiben! :) T F Sollte die Fia bzw. die Formel 1, alle Fahrer vor Latifi oder Stroll schützen, in dem man Fahrer mit einem solchen "Talent" gar nicht erst mitfahren lässt? Chaos Was haltet ihr vom "erneuerten" Schmuck Verbot in der F1? Ich muss sagen es ist für mich ein zweischneidiges Schwert. Auf der einen Seite ist es eigentlich belanglos und hatte soweit ich weiß noch nie eine Auswirkung. Auf der anderen Seite gibt es diese Regel, und wenn ein Lewis Hamilton einfach darauf pfeift, dann stellt er sich ja auch mal eben über die Regeln und Dinge (...wie man es von ihm kennt). Wie würde eurer Meinung nach eine gerechte Strafe für dieses Vergehen aussehen? Nicht, dass ich es mir wünsche, aber es wäre schon mal lustig und interessant zu sehen, wenn der Rennleiter sagt, wer nicht ordnungsgemäß fährt der wird disqualifiziert. Verrückter Formel 1 Tag in Melbourne: Unfälle, Kollisionen und Ärger um eine gestrichene DRS-Zone! Was war da los? Sportlich setzten Ferrari und Red Bull ihr Duell um die WM-Krone an der Spitze fort. Charles Leclerc sicherte sich die Pole Position, musste aber lange um diese zittern. Warum drohte ihm eine Strafe? Aston Martin erwischte ein rabenschwarzes Wochenende. Nach dem Motorschaden vom Freitag gab es gleich dreimal Schrott am Samstag: Beide Fahrer crashten im 3. Training und Lance Stroll kollidierte zudem mit Nicholas Latifi im Qualifying. Dafür gab es eine Strafe! Und viel Arbeit für die Mechaniker... Schon vor dem Qualifying gab es Ärger zwischen einigen Teams und der Rennleitung! Diese hatte eine der vier DRS-Zonen über Nacht aus Sicherheitsgründen gestrichen. Aber war das wirklich notwendig? Oder erhalten damit einige Fahrer und Teams einen unfairen Vorteil, der das Kräfteverhältnis verschiebt? Und dann waren da noch positive wie negative Qualifying-Überraschungen: Angefangen von Fernando Alonso, der eigenen Worten zu Folge Chancen auf die Pole hatte, die aber durch einen Abflug verlor, über ein erstarktes McLaren bis hin zu schwachen Haas.
