IPL 2022 Mega auction: Draft deadline for teams | Lucknow Panthers or Lucknow Rangers? New team name #ipl #ipl2022 #iplmegaauction #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl IPL 2022: New franchises given January 22 deadline to conclude retention process The two new IPL franchises – Lucknow and Ahmedabad – have been given time until January 22 to complete their retention process ahead of the mega auction before the 15th edition of the tournament. The confirmation comes two days after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the final go-ahead to the CVC Capitals-owned Ahmedabad franchise, as they issued the Letter of Intent, which was delayed following the emergence of the company’s linkages with companies outside India that had given birth to a controversy. The new franchises were originally supposed to be given a two-week window for picking the players, although it is understood that the board and respective team managements have agreed that 10 days will be sufficient for it. As it stands, the new franchises have time till 5 pm on January 22 to conclude the process. The mega auction, the organising of which was under doubt owing to the significant upsurge of Covid-19 cases in India, is understood to go underway as per plans on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. While various reports suggesting the likelihood of it going outside India, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel silenced the claims on January 11, the same day when IPL also found a new sponsor in Tata Group, the Indian business conglomerate, after the pull-out of Vivo. IPL 2022 Mega auction: 8 Teams trials for one player | Lucknow team name | New ICC Odi rule change Reports: IPL mega auction likely to be postpone owing to CVC matter The ownership of the Ahmedabad franchise has created some massive issues for the IPL governing council and the BCCI. During the team auction, CVC Capital, an American company, pipped the Adani Group to purchase the Ahmedabad franchise by paying INR 5,625 crores. However, it was later reported that the company has made investments in two betting companies, and it created a massive controversy. The BCCI announced the appointment of a neutral panel consisting of Supreme Court and High Court judges to look into this issue. Later, it was reported that the panel has given a clean chit to CVC and the ball is now in BCCI’s court. The board is yet to decide the future of the franchise and thus, the future of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League. According to a report published by Cricbuzz, the attorneys for the Ahmedabad team and the board are working together to find a suitable and lawful wording for an agreement to be signed by both parties. The board has made its mind, and CVC is going to be the owners of the Ahmedabad team, but the delay is only due to the legal experts trying to find the right words for the agreement. The effect of this delay is likely to be on the mega auction, which has already been pushed to February. The board is likely to give at least 15 days to both the franchise owners to sign players. Hence, the auction date might be further postponed to a new date, and the BCCI might announce the final date once the CVC issue resolves. BCCI is preparing to host the biggest auction of IPL’s history The eight teams have already released the name of players they are going to retain for the upcoming season of the IPL. The two new teams have the option to retain three players before moving towards the mega auction. The auction pool is likely to be the biggest in recent times, and the teams will have to work from scratch to prepare a squad for the next few seasons. #ipl #ipl2022 #iplmegaauction #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl Subscribe to my Channel: http://bit.ly/TamilCricketNews For business, enquiries send mail to tamilcricketnewsofficial@gmail.com Follow us on Social Media Platforms: Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/tamilcricketnewsofficial/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/tamilcricketnewsofficial/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Tcntamil Telegram Group - https://t.me/tcnarmy Clubhouse - https://www.clubhouse.com/@tcnofficial

IPL Mega auction Retain Prediction | IPL 2022 | IPL Latest News | Tamil Cricket News |IPL News Tamil #ipl #ipl2022 #iplauction #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl IPL 2021: Mega Auction, IPL Auction Date, Likely Retentions & RTM, Rules, News Updates, Details Cricket fans worldwide are eagerly waiting for the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the gala tournament midway on May 4 due to the pandemic. The remaining matches of the season will now take place in the United Arab Emirates in September-October. While BCCI would be preparing for the smooth conduct of the UAE leg, they also have an eye on the next season. For the unversed, IPL will undergo many transitions in the 2022 season which will also see the tournament expansion. Two new teams are set to come into the picture, making IPL a 10-team event. Only eight teams have been participating since the 2014 edition. Hence, it would be interesting to see what the change in dynamics will result in. Moreover, a mega auction is also set to take place for next year’s event which would see all the teams going under massive revamps. The Times of India reported that instead of three, four players can be retained ahead of the bidding event but under some specific conditions. Either a side can retain three Indians and one overseas player or two locals and as many foreign stars. Teams to have more money in the purse hints BCCI The report further said that BCCI is set to increase the salary purse from INR 85 crore to INR 90 crore, adding INR 50 crore to the total salary pool. It is mandatory for all the franchises to spend at least 75% of the allotted purse. Franchises retaining players must deduct specified sums from their salary purse before heading into the auction pool. As per the existing structure, the deduction in purse amount is laid down as follows: INR 15 crore, INR 11 crore, and INR 7 crore if three players are retained, INR 12.5 crore and INR 8.5 crore in case of two players, and INR 12.5 crore if only one player is retained. However, this structure is likely to undergo some changes with BCCI allowing teams to retain four players now. Speaking of IPL 2021, many teams might not be able to field their best combination with foreign players likely to pull out of the tournament owing to travel restrictions and quarantine protocols. Moreover, the tournament will be followed by the high-voltage ICC T20 World Cup and national boards will want their players to be fit for the event.
