This is the seventh inning stretch of the April 18, 2012 game between the Hanshin Tigers and Tokyo Yakult Swallows. The Swallows ended up winning 3-2.
Japan baseball - balloons

Hanshin Tigers baseball a unique experience, Osaka Japan
After having viewed a number of Osaka baseball videos on YouTube I requested to attend a game when in Japan (May, 2011). The team is owned by the Hanshin Railway company, the Hanshin Tigers. It was a Friday evening in Koshien Stadium built in 1924 seating 55,000, Osaka, Japan. We sat in the upper deck in the outfield along the first base line. - The fans in unison chanted, sung, and slammed their plastic bats together. One could only question: who choreographed all these people? Everyone was happy, cheering, chanting, enjoying the game on the field and the party in the stands. During the 7th inning stretch the fans blow up balloons resembling sperm. Then on a given signal the balloons are released into the air while the crowd cheers creating a colorful sky above. I have been to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, Shea Stadium to see the Mets in Queens, New York, and in Arlington, Texas to watch the Rangers play. All fun and interesting I thought. Now after Osaka, they are all boring. Koshien Stadium, Hanshin Tigers 7th Inning Stretch?
This is what they do during the 7th inning stretch so don't bother waiting to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" in Japan. The funny thing is everyone blowing up their balloon and you'll hear some of them pop, some are let go by accident, and the funniest being that everyone's waiting for the final out of the 1st half of the 7th inning to let go of their balloons. Oh, and not to mention the time it takes for the grounds crew to clean up the balloons that end up on the playing field. Shot and edited with iPhone 4 and iMovie for iOS. Go Tigers!
