The venue for the first game is Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Tarouba Trinidad and India would be hoping to dominate the proceedings like they did in the final ODI at the same venue couple of days back. West Indies though have some quality T20 superstars and we can expect a close intense affair. Rovman Powell will lead West Indies in T20Is and he would be looking to get back into some form after a torrid run in recent past. Along with him West Indies have powerful batters like Kyle Mayers Charles Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran who would be itching to translate his Major League Cricket form in international cricket. Hope and Holder are also back in the T20 setup while the bowling too looks pretty good with Akeal Hosein and Obed McCoy back in the mix. Expect Windies to give India a tough fight. India on the other hand have plenty of players who will be itching to prove a point at the international level. They might rest Shubman Gill and hand Yashasvi Jaiswal his debut in T20Is while Tilak Varma could also make his debut. The presence of Samson Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya make India a dangerous batting unit. Yuzvendra Chahal might finally get a game on this tour while Arshdeep Singh would add more strength to a young Indian pace attack. Can West Indies stop a rampant Indian unit and take a 1-0 lead in this T20I series? We shall find out. Suryakumar Yadav is a key member in the T20I team and he'll be hoping to get himself going in a format which has worked out well for him after an average showing in the ODI series. Umran Malik will be keen to find his rhythm and put the West Indian batters in a spot having not been at his best in the 50-over games. Meanwhile Mukesh Kumar after showcasing his skills in the Test and ODI formats in his maiden series for India will look to make a mark in the T20I format too if he is handed a debut. India have a plethora of spin options and it remains to be seen who among them get the nod. The West Indies side have plenty of quality players in their line-up but this will again be a fresh start for them after their poor showing in the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. They did win 2-1 against South Africa earlier this year and will be hoping to reflect on those performances as they look to challenge India who are starting a new journey of their own as the old guard makes way for new if the recent selections are anything to go by. What to expect: In the last match at this venue India scored 350-plus batting first in the third ODI and a similar batting-friendly wicket could be on offer. Will India rest Shubman Gill and give Jaiswal an opportunity at the top of the order to partner Ishan Kishan or play the former at No.3? Tilak or Sanju Samson for the middle order? Who among three wrist spin options and which pacer to leave out? set the ball rolling in terms of preparations for the next year's T20 World Cup which will be held in the Caribbean and the United States. Plenty of selection headaches for captain Hardik Pandya and the team management. Nicholas Pooran who missed the ODI series owing to his participation in Major League Cricket returns to the T20I side fresh off a match-winning 137 not out. The presence of Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope lend heft to the setup as does the return of Oshane Thomas to the pace department. who have played for India before but have gone off the radar a bit will be hoping to make the most of the platform. India have taken a 1-0 lead in the series with a five-wicket win but would be looking to iron out their flaws in the second game while for the Windies it is a must-win game to keep the series alive. A win here will be a big boost for the Men in Maroon and let's see how they go about their business in the second ODI at the beautiful Kensington Oval Barbados. India were brilliant with the ball in the first game and hunted down Windies for just 114. The spinners did the trick with 7 wickets between them as Kuldeep took a four-wicket haul in just three overs. Mukesh Kumar the debutant also showed a lot of promise and we can expect India to go with the same bowling attack. As far as batting is concerned India were in a mood of experimentation. Ishan Kishan opened the innings while Suryakumar Yadav batted at 3. But India could not end the chase in a clinical fashion as they lost five wickets on their way. Ishan though scored a fighting fifty in testing conditions which are good signs for India. However India's middle order conundrum is getting mysterious day by day and we might see Samson getting a nod ahead of misfiring Suryakumar Yadav in the second ODI. West Indies on the other hand just need to find a way to apply themselves with the bat. The strike-rotation has been missing in their game for a long time now and they have been guilty of throwing their wickets in a bid to play big shots. Shai Hope has been a lone warrior in the past and he was in the first game too but the likes of Mayers Powell and Hetmyer need to take more responsibility as well. On the bowling front Hope will be happy with the way his bowlers fought till the end. Motie bowled beautifully and he will have to play a big role in the second game too. They might also bring Alzarri Joseph back in the XI for this do-or-die game and we might see a more resilient Windies unit in the second ODI. Let's hope for a cracking encounter. Kuldeep Yadav preferred over Yuzvendra Chahal for the first match. West Indies Team News: Keacy Carty Alzarri Joseph Oshane Thomas and Kevin Sinclair were the ones to sit out for the first game. Among them Carty is an option in the batting order with Mayers not having had a good run in ODIs of late. Carty meanwhile had scored 87 in his previous outing against Sri Lanka. Shai Hope who top-scored with 43 will be hoping for some kind of support at the other end and will expect the batters to show better application with their shot-making going forward. India Team News: The visitors may not make too many changes as they look to give the current lot another go to audition for the World Cup. They are likely to remain unchanged. They are likely to continue with such experiments both with their batting and bowling in second ODI as they look to seal the series and extend their winning streak against the West Indies in ODIs to 10 games. Mukesh was decent in his debut game while India also tried Pandya as their opening bowler with some success. What to expect: There was enough bounce and spin on offer during the first ODI helping the pacers and spinners alike. India might look to bat first should they win the toss in the second game to give their batters some challenge should the pitch turn out anything similar for the second game. West Indies are 76/2 at the end of the fourth day's play and they need 289 more runs to win this clash. Early lunch was taken as the game was interrupted multiple times and only 3 overs were possible in the afternoon session. Siraj registered his best Test figures in the morning session as he and Mukesh did short work of the Windies middle and lower order to send them packing for 255. The Indian openers began well adding 98 runs for the first wicket. Rohit was dropped twice on 25 and 29 in the space of two overs and brought up his quickest Test half century. He was eventually dismissed by Shannon Gabriel who dropped one of his catches earlier. Yashasvi Jaiswal also got to an aggressive start and fell against the spinner Jomel Warrican. The left-hand right-hand batting combination was continued as Ishan Kishan was sent to bat at number 4 with the attacking intent. Rain interrupted the game for almost 2 hours with tea taken during the interval. The two batters then added 63 runs in nine overs with Kishan getting his first Test fifty in just 33 balls adding 79 unbeaten with Gill (29*) for the third wicket and set West Indies 365 to win. Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul spearheaded the innings for the West Indies in the 4th innings. The duo played sensibly and negotiated Indian pacers carefully without losing any wickets in the first hour of the last session. Rohit switched the bowling from pace to spin and it proved to be the right decision as Ashwin trapped Brathwaite (28 off 52) and Kirk McKenzie (0 off 4) in quick succession and put West Indies in a spot of bother. Blackwood joined Chanderpaul at number three and the duo played cautiously remaining unbeaten till the end of the fourth day’s play. Rohit employed five bowlers and Ashwin managed to extract a couple of wickets for India. India will aim to wrap up the innings quickly tomorrow and win this clash.
