The other problems Mercedes still needs to fix on its 2022 F1 car

For most of the 2022 Formula 1 season so far the core reason for Mercedes’ lack of performance has been one specific problem: porpoising. A recent, crucial breakthrough with that issue pointed to the world champion team finally starting to salvage its misfiring campaign. But it isn’t as simple as that. One massive hurdle has been overcome but Mercedes’ 2022 car still has other limitations that need to be addressed if either Lewis Hamilton or George Russell have any real hope of winning races this season. #F1 #Mercedes #LewisHamilton READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/the-other-weaknesses-mercedes-2022-f1-car-still-has/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

Jos Verstappen's outburst and Sergio Perez's new contract give Red Bull a problem
Jos Verstappen's outburst and Sergio Perez's new contract give Red Bull a problem

For the first time in many years, Red Bull has two Formula 1 drivers in competition. It’s a scenario the team had almost certainly not planned for, and there are already signs of it causing problems. Sergio Perez’s victory in the Monaco Grand Prix came on the weekend he was genuinely faster than team-mate Max Verstappen for the first time. And it triggered an immediate, and bizarre, condemnation of Red Bull from Verstappen’s father Jos. Checo challenging and beating Max could happen more often given how competitive he looks in the 2022 RB18. But will that be allowed to happen? #F1 #SergioPerez #RedBull READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/sour-grapes-or-valid-criticism-jos-verstappens-red-bull-dig/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

Have we just seen F1's last Monaco Grand Prix?
Have we just seen F1's last Monaco Grand Prix?

We hope you savoured every moment of the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix because there’s a chance it will not be on the Formula 1 calendar next year. A return to full fan capacity and a packed roster of VIP guests meant that last weekend Monaco was in greater public demand than it has been for many years. But still it has no contract beyond 2022 and as the race organiser continues to clash with F1 chiefs, the future of F1’s oldest and most famous race has never seemed less assured. #F1 #MonacoGP Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

Forget failed Red Bull protest - Ferrari must blame itself for losing F1's Monaco GP
Forget failed Red Bull protest - Ferrari must blame itself for losing F1's Monaco GP

Ferrari only has itself to blame for throwing away what seemed like a certain victory in the Monaco Grand Prix after turning a one-two in the early stages into second and fourth place for Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. Leclerc didn’t even finish on the podium having started from pole position and then led the first 17 laps, thanks to two strategic errors by the Ferrari pitwall. As for Sainz, he had to argue against the incorrect strategy the team tried to put him on - something that might have saved Ferrari from itself but for an inconvenient backmarker getting in the way. Ferrari has a car capable of fighting for the championship, but the lack of sharpness meant that in changeable conditions in Monaco it was out-manouevred by Red Bull. And it was nothing to do with Perez or Max Verstappen touching the yellow line at the pit exit, which only became an issue post-race because of a careless error by the race director ahead of the weekend. #F1 #MonacoGP #Ferrari READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/mark-hughes-how-red-bull-ambushed-untouchable-ferrari/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

The signs Daniel Ricciardo's McLaren F1 contract could be cut short
The signs Daniel Ricciardo's McLaren F1 contract could be cut short

Daniel Ricciardo’s move to McLaren in 2021 seemed a match made in heaven between a proven race winner hungry for a shot at the world championship and a legendary team working its way back to being a title contender. The reality has fallen dramatically short of that. Ricciardo struggled last year but hopes things would be different in 2022 have so far proved wide of the mark. And now, we are starting to see hints that his time with the team might not extend beyond the end of this season. #F1 #DanielRicciardo #McLaren READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/ricciardo-comment-adds-to-inevitable-mclaren-2023-doubts/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

How escaping Red Bull has transformed Alex Albon's faltering F1 career
How escaping Red Bull has transformed Alex Albon's faltering F1 career

Alex Albon is a completely different driver in 2022 to the one who looked hopelessly lost during his final months with Red Bull Racing two seasons ago. There was an element of risk for Williams in signing him, as despite Albon being highly-regarded as a driver with tremendous ability, he struggled when up against Max Verstappen at Red Bull. The hope was always that Albon’s blend of F1 experience, top-team know-how and determination to reignite his F1 career would coalesce and he’d finally fulfil his prodigious potential in F1. Based on the first five races of the season it was an inspired signing - giving Williams a talismanic driver to replace the seemingly-irreplaceable George Russell. #F1 #AlexAlbon #Williams Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

What's really behind F1's weird Lewis Hamilton/Sebastian Vettel/FIA feud
What's really behind F1's weird Lewis Hamilton/Sebastian Vettel/FIA feud

Open defiance from Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel in the wake of an FIA rules clampdown has put a weird Formula 1 feud in the spotlight. The two most decorated drivers on the F1 grid have been the most prominent objectors to the FIA suddenly enforcing long-standing rules on jewellery and flameproof underwear. Hamilton now appears to be locked in a stand-off with the governing body that could result in him eventually being hit with a fine of more than $250,000 every time he drives the car. But this bizarre feud over nose piercings and pants also seems to be linked to a deeper divide between F1 and its governing body. #F1 #FIA READ MORE HERE: Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace
