India and New Zealand will be playing against each other in the third and final match of the T20I series. After Ranchi and Lucknow the decider will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad. After a horrendous ODI series New Zealand started the shorter formats with a win under their name. Batting first the fifties from Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell helped the Kiwis to post a total of 176 runs. India failed to chase it down despite valiant efforts from Suryakumar Yadav and Washington Sundar. The Men in Blue bounced back in the 2nd T20I after they managed to make a heavy weather of a paltry total. It was Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya who helped the side to go over the line by keeping their calm. While the visitors will be looking to redeem themselves from the ODI series against India the 'Men in Blue' will look to keep their record intact. Team news India: The hosts left out Umran Malik for a second spinner in Yuzvendra Chahal and the pitch again will dictate that decision. Team news New Zealand: The visitors have played the same side on what were slightly different surfaces and they are unlikely to make any change for the decider. While the pitch in Ranchi left Hardik Pandya "surprised" the India captain was "shocked" by what was on offer in Lucknow. And when the talk is largely about the playing surface ahead of a series decider especially with India's proud record of 12 undefeated home series on the line something's got to give. Ahmedabad the venue for the third and final T20I between India and New Zealand has had its fair share of debate around pitches in the past. And the last thing both teams would want is another tricky T20 surface that sees Lockie Ferguson bowl as many overs as Mark Chapman; or Deepak Hooda twice as many as Yuzvendra Chahal. Pitch aside India will know that there's work to be done especially with a young side that's trying to ready itself for 2024. After a breezy ODI whitewash the T20I rubber hasn't been as easy for the hosts. While the death bowling cost them in Ranchi their batting was under the scanner two days later; India got past a target of 100 with only a ball to spare. But the challenging conditions stole the thunder away hardly allowing the team to assess their progress. For example Arshdeep Singh bowled the 20th over again after copping some heat in the first T20I but that he was up against a team limping at 94/8 hardly lent credibility to his five-run last over. For New Zealand this is a great opportunity. They are without a host of their frontline players like Trent Boult Kane Williamson and Tim Southee and are in with a shot to beat India in a T20I series at home - the bragging rights for which has belonged only to Australia and West Indies in the last eight years. For Mitchell Santner's team that will be a great shot in the arm and expect the side to mount a good challenge for the hosts pitch permitting of course. What to expect: A nervous curator. And a fair few cheers for Hardik Pandya the Gujarat Titans captain who is also leading the India T20I side now. Like most Indian grounds teams have preferred to bat second here but in the last couple of games here against England India showed that it is in fact possible to defend targets here. That said those games were played in March; this one could see some fair amount of dew though. It will be interesting to see what pitch the match is played on (Ahmedabad has both red and black soil pitches) but expect the venue to be buzzing again with capacity crowds. Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the first day's play of the Second and final Test match in this 2-Test series featuring the hosts Bangladesh against the visitors India from the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Dhaka. It was India who drew first blood in an enthralling encounter at Chattogram as they beat the hosts by 188 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the 2-match series. Opting to bat first India posted 404 on the back of crucial contributions from Cheteshwar Pujara (90) Shreyas Iyer (86) Ravichandran Ashwin (58) and Kuldeep Yadav (40). Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam picked up 4 wickets apiece. Bangladesh in reply were blown away for 150 with Kuldeep Yadav picking up 5 wickets and Mohammad Siraj picking up 3 wickets. This is where Bangladesh lost the plot as they ended up conceding a massive 254-run lead to India. On Thursday hosts Bangladesh will take on India in the final Test of the two-match series in Dhaka. This is a must-win game for Bangladesh as a loss will hand them a series defeat. India suffered a massive blow with Rohit Sharma being ruled out of the Test due to thumb injury. However the likes of Shubman Gill Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli are pretty much capable of guiding the visitors with their stoic batsmanship. Their bowling was clinical in the first Test as the spinners especially Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel wreaked havoc in the Tigers' camp dismissing them twice in the game. Ravichandran Ashwin's failure with the ball was surprising so he would like to get some wickets under his belt in this game. On the other hand although Bangladesh batters put up some fight in the second innings it was their horrendous outing in the first innings that handed them the crushing defeat. Also they were less penetrative with the ball as compared to their opponents. The pacers Ebadot and Khaled must chip in with some breakthroughs something which they failed to execute in Chattogram. Additionally veteran batters Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das should convert their starts into big ones as scoring in mere 30s and 40s doesn't at all help in the longest format. Considering the strengths of both teams we reckon India will start as the firm favourites to win the face-off. But can the Tigers force an upset? What to expect: The pitch at Chattogram was slow and low all through the track in Dhaka is expected to have a little more bounce and probably more assistance for the seamers as compared to the previous one. Teams News India: They'll have little to worry about despite KL Rahul copping a blow in the nets ahead of the match. They are likely to go ahead with an unchanged eleven. Teams News Bangladesh: Litton Das was seen doing keeping in the practice session and that could put pressure on the out-of-form Nurul Hasan. Former skipper Mominul Haque is all set to return. Yasir Ali's performance in the opening game makes his place doubtful for second Test. If he is excluded then Mahmudul Hasan wold come in which also suggests that Nazmul Hossain will return to No. 3 with Mominul at four.
