Jake Noll - Infielder: Washington Nationals * WTA
Jake Noll - Infielder: Washington Nationals * WTA

Jacob Carl Noll (born March 8, 1994) is an American professional baseball infielder for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Nationals selected Noll in the seventh round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, making him the fifth-highest draft pick in Florida Gulf Coast history and the second-highest among position players. Many prognosticators had expected him to be drafted a round or two higher. Noll chose to sign with the Nationals and was named among the organization's Minor League Baseball All-Stars at the end of the 2016 season, progressing from the Class A Short Season Auburn Doubledays up to the Class A Full Season Hagerstown Suns over the course of his campaign. Noll continued his development in 2017, ending the year with the Class A-Advanced Potomac Nationals. Noll was one of six Potomac Nationals honored as Carolina League All-Stars in 2018. He played for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League following the 2018 season. Primarily a second baseman in 2016 and 2017, Noll played mostly corner infield positions in 2018. After the 2018 season, MLB Pipeline ranked him as the Nationals' 31st-best prospect; in April 2019, he moved to 27th on the list. Noll received a non-roster invitation to major league spring training in the 2019 preseason. A strong spring performance saw him stand alone as the last non-roster player in major league camp by the final day of spring action in Florida. After fellow infielder Adrián Sánchez was optioned to the Class-AAA Fresno Grizzlies following the final spring training game, the Nationals selected Noll's contract and promoted him to the roster for Opening Day. Noll made his debut as a pinch-hitter against the New York Mets on March 30, 2019, grounding out on a high chopper. In his third major league at-bat, on April 3, he worked a bases-loaded walk against Philadelphia Phillies reliever David Robertson for a walkoff win in the ninth inning. On April 24th, 2019, Noll started his first major league game against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. He recorded his first major league hit the same day, an RBI double off of Rockies pitcher German Marquez. In 8 games with the Nationals, Noll had a .167 average and 2 RBI. The Nationals finished the 2019 year 93-69, clinching a wild card spot, and eventually winning the World Series over the Houston Astros. Noll was not part of the postseason run, but still won his first world championship. Kasper Schmeichel reveals 'horrifying' details of Leicester helicopter crash
Kasper Schmeichel reveals 'horrifying' details of Leicester helicopter crash

Schmeichel saw the chopper come down and burst into flames outside the King Power Stadium after their game with West Ham on October 27. Five people were on board and there were no survivors. Schmeichel enjoyed an extremely close relationship with Srivaddhanaprabha, who led Leicester to a shock Premier League title in 2015/16. And the Dane says he can still remember every ‘horrifying’ detail of the incident in an emotional interview with Sky Sports. “Unfortunately, [I remember] everything. Every little detail,” he said. “I had family over from Denmark and I gave them a little look around the stadium and the pitch - the helicopter was always a big attraction. “We waved him off, waved him goodbye, and we kind of just watched him go up. “I’d seen him do it hundreds of times - it was a kind of ritual thing in the end. “You could just tell something was wrong, because it doesn't normally stand still like that. And what unfolded, unfolded. “I ran straight out of the tunnel and round to that side of the stadium. People over that side of the stadium hadn't seen what had gone on. “So I came sprinting out, shouting for people to call the police, one of our security guards saw me, ran after me. “We managed to get close - our security guard got closer than I did, and he [the security guard] tried to get in and do something. “But it was very evident from the heat that there was nothing anyone would be able to do. “And yeah - it was horrifying, horrible, to be that helpless.” Schmeichel credits Srivaddhanaprabha for his success and for turning his career around. Before moving to Leicester, the 32-year-old had failed to follow in his father Peter’s footsteps by breaking into the first team at Manchester City on a regular basis and had loan spells at clubs such as Darlington, Bury and Falkirk. “If you look back at my career, I've had to constantly prove myself and be compared to others,' Schmeichel added. “Constantly having to prove I am good enough. Then came a guy who said he believed in me from the first minute. “He said he'd seen me play and just gave me the platform. “I’ve been here nearly eight years now and that says a lot about the stability here and the belief he had in me. Having gone from nine clubs to just being at one club, I was searching for someone who believed in me - he and his family did. “It's very easy to be caught up in this world of money, fame and fortune.  “He is a guy who has done all that and doesn't care about it. He only cares about helping people. “I think it just goes to show the impact he had and the kind of person he was. “He didn't need to buy a football club. A football club’s not a good business investment. “They lose money like you would;t believe. “He had a passion for the club, for Leicester, all that he did for the city - the hospitals, the donations. All these kind of things. “It was ownership done properly. If you're a fan of any club, that's the type of owner you want, the type of owner you dream of having.”

FSU Softball vs South Alabama 2018 Game 1
FSU Softball vs South Alabama 2018 Game 1

Warren Has Record Night As Noles Split Doubleheader MOBILE, Ala. — Florida State senior Jessie Warren continued to collect school and conference records on Wednesday night as the third baseman set the FSU career RBI record, as well as the ACC career home run record as the No. 9 Seminoles (9-3) split the doubleheader with South Alabama (6-5) at Jaguar Field. Warren drove in the only run in FSU’s 3-1 defeat in game one to set the school RBI record and her first-inning home run in game two’s 14-1 victory tied UNC’s Kristen Brown for the ACC career home run mark with 66. Warren added a grand slam in the second inning to take sole possession of the ACC record. She finished the doubleheader with 67 career home runs and 222 career RBI. “Tough way to get a split, but tip your hat to Devin Brown, she kept our hitters off balance all game in the first one,” said FSU head coach Lonni Alameda. “Also, what a special night for Jessie. She is so fun to watch and puts in a lot of work and truly loves and understands the game. She continues to get smarter with how teams are pitching her and how she wants to attack different situations. I doubt she even knew she was approaching these records.” Game 1: South Alabama 3, No. 9 Florida State 1 The first hit of the game from either team came in the bottom of the third on a leadoff single by Lyric Cabral. The inning continued with a walk and the Jaguars loaded the bases after an FSU fielding error. Kaleigh Todd gave South Alabama a 2-0 lead with a single to center. The runs snapped streaks of FSU starting pitcher Kylee Hanson of 24.0 innings without giving up an earned run and 11.0 consecutive scoreless innings. South Alabama added another run in the fourth inning with a solo home run by Abby Krzywiecki for a 3-0 lead. Hanson (5-1) was replaced entering the sixth inning, ending her start with 5.0 innings pitched and allowing three runs on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts. Cassidy Davis pitched the final inning, struck out the first batter she faced and retired the next two on a fly out and ground out. The Seminoles threatened in the seventh, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate, but could not get the key hit to bring them all in to extend the game. Davis led off the inning, reached on a Jaguar throwing error and was pinch-run for at first base by Deja Bush. Morgan Klaevemann put down a bunt single and Cali Harrod followed with a walk to load the bases with one out. Warren hit a high chopper over the third baseman to score Bush and the ball got away from the South Alabama left fielder. Klaevemann saw an opportunity to score, but got in a run down between third and home for out number two, and a strikeout ended the game. http://seminoles.com/warren-has-record-night-as-noles-split-doubleheader/ Stats pdf: http://seminolesweb-8b76.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/South-Ala-3_FSU-1-Game-1.pdf
