Yimmi Chara scored a goal and the Portland Timbers drew 1-1 with the LA Galaxy.
The New York Islanders season meets a fitting end as hey give up five goals in the final frame to fall to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 6-4. The Islanders bursted hot out of the gates, with JG Pageau scoring just 32 seconds in the game, and added two more goals in the second period to carry a 3-1 lead into the third. A complete role reversal took place there, with the Lightning scoring five goals, including rattling off four straight, to defeat the Islanders. Steven Stamkos led the charge, combining his goal in the first with two more in the third for a hat trick, marking a sensational ninth straight multi-point game. His play will be particularly important for a Tampa team looking to secure a third straight Stanley Cup. On the other end, a turbulent year for the Islanders marred by COVID-19 outbreaks, an inconsistent schedule and countless other adversities, had an uplifting finish. Zdeno Chara scored with under a minute to go in what may very well be the final game of his NHL career, and the ensuing stadium cheers drowned out any of the disappointment from what this season has been, as every Lightning player remained on the ice to shake his hand after the final buzzer rang. A season conclusion with many storylines, here's Tyler Mooney for the final time from UBS Arena.
