Russell Westbrook: The Worst Shooter in NBA History | Not everyone can be Stephen Curry when it comes to shooting threes. While the NBA has absolutely moved towards a game that emphasize the three point shot, there are still a lot of great players in the game that dominate the game in other ways, while not being a prolific three point shooter. However, when it comes to being a bad shooter in basketball, there are two kinds, one who doesn’t even dare take the shot and one who just keeps on shooting despite not being efficient at doing so. Now both types of bad shooters are detrimental to a team in some degree…..because both types literally fall under the umbrella of being a bad shooter. But I guess what I’m trying to say is that there’s two different types of poison we’re dealing with here. On one hand, if you have a player who doesn’t even shoot the ball, the defense can sag off you and play much better help defense, and on the other, you have a player that shoots it enough to make the defense a little honest, but still are taking shots that are just statistically not a high percentage shot for the particular player. And today I want to talk about the ladder of those two, because with that second type, there’s more of a what if element to it that honestly sparks my curiosity because it’s something that you don’t need to use “probably” or talk about any timelines, it’s just pure math. Today we’re going to talk about what if….what if the worst of that kind of shooter was actually a decent 3 point shooter and what kind of number would that player have if he just made his shots at a higher clip….and let me tell you after doing my research, it’s actually insane. Stainless steel was a hot commodity, although there were some initial teething issues with slide/frame galling. Eventually, AMT introduced a number of additional 1911 models, including the Javelina - a 10mm Auto model available in standard Government length as well as the 7 inch "Hunter" alongside that we have here today. The Javelina was only made for a couple years in the early 1990s, before AMT had financial problems and the market for the 10mm cartridge lost its initial intensity. As best I can tell, about 2000 Javelinas were made between both barrel lengths. I was rather impressed with how the gun handled when fired; it was more controllable than I had anticipated. And the 10mm projectile made a very persuasive statement on the plates! Unfortunately, it had a failure to feed about every 10-15 rounds. This idea that everyone can have their opinions on certain matters, but there are statistics that are based on raw data and mathematical computations. But the truth is numbers do lie, numbers do lie when they presented in a way that does not provide proper context to those numbers and statistics. And while there a lot of analysts on TV that are just….illogical, to the point where most people genuinely think it’s just an act at this point. Nick Wright is probably one of the few analysts in the mainstream media that actually routinely uses statistics in his takes more so than other analysts. And I wouldn’t say that what he’s doing is immoral or it’s dangerous….because at the end of the day, it’s just basketball, but it gets really annoying when a person like Nick Wright, with the platform that he has use such flawed takes that just sound good because he blurts out statistics that he uses in the wrong context.
