Wemby Waited 5 Years For Revenge… 🤬🔥
The rivalry between Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren started years before the NBA at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup, when Team USA barely defeated France 83-81 in the championship game and Holmgren won tournament MVP over Wemby. Even after Victor put up 22 points, 8 rebounds, and a tournament-record 8 blocks in the final, he still had to watch Chet celebrate the gold medal and MVP trophy, with Wembanyama later calling it one of the toughest moments of his basketball career. Ever since then, fans have constantly compared the two future superstars as the next generation of NBA greatness, and today Wemby finally got his revenge against Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder on the biggest stage possible. In Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, Victor Wembanyama delivered an all-time playoff performance with 41 points, 24 rebounds, clutch blocks, a huge game-tying three, and a vicious dunk over Holmgren to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 122-115 double-overtime win over OKC. Meanwhile, Holmgren struggled with just 8 points and 8 rebounds as Wemby completely took over the game and stole the spotlight from his longtime rival. From losing MVP to Chet as a teenager to dominating him years later in the NBA playoffs, this matchup officially feels like the beginning of basketball’s next legendary rivalry. Can the Spurs Eliminate the Timberwolves?
It took a massive 36-point performance from Anthony Edwards just to barely survive against the San Antonio Spurs after Victor Wembanyama missed three and a half quarters. That has us asking a serious question: are the Spurs still in complete control of this series? We break down the momentum swing after Wemby left the game, why the Timberwolves suddenly looked alive, and how Anthony Edwards once again proved he’s built for playoff basketball with clutch shot-making all night long. We also talk about Stephon Castle needing to lock in, Ayo Dosunmu stepping up late under pressure, and why San Antonio may still be the only team capable of stopping the Oklahoma City Thunder from winning a championship. Can Minnesota force a Game 7, or will Wemby and the Spurs close this thing out in six? #nba #sanantoniospurs #timberwolves #wemby #swishlistpodcast
The Giants Need to Make a Move
The San Francisco Giants are in trouble — and the questions are starting to pile up around Buster Posey's front office tenure. In this segment, the guys break down the growing concern around Posey's bold but backfiring moves: the Rafael Devers trade, the Willy Adames signing, the Matt Chapman extension, and now the surprise Patrick Bailey trade to Cleveland. Is this a team that knows what it's doing — or one spinning out of control less than a year into a new regime? Ken Rosenthal called it "subtraction by addition," and it's hard to argue with that right now. The Giants rank among the worst offenses in baseball — fewest home runs, fewest walks, and a historically low walk rate. Devers is finally waking up in May, Willy Adames is creeping back above .200, but the roster construction still doesn't make sense. And then there's Bryce Eldridge — a top prospect called up to the big club and barely getting any at-bats. If you bring him up, you have to play him. The hosts lay it all out — and argue the Giants have two realistic options right now: move Jung Ho Lee back to center and make Casey Schmidt the right fielder, or trade Matt Chapman to clear the logjam. Otherwise, the front office is just spinning its wheels while wasting a prospect's development time. Topics discussed include: Buster Posey's front office moves — bold or reckless? The Devers, Adames, and Chapman contracts — stuck or salvageable? Patrick Bailey traded to Cleveland — what does it mean for Giants catching? Bryce Eldridge called up but barely playing — a development disaster? PAUL GEORGE’S EFFORT WAS HARD TO WATCH 😭🔥 ELIMINATION GAME #nbashorts #knicks #nbaplayoffs
Paul George’s defensive effort in this elimination game had Sixers fans frustrated 😭🔥 First McBride gets a wide open stepback three after barely seeing resistance, then on the very next possession PG and Embiid completely mess up the switch and McBride is left wide open AGAIN 😳 That’s 6 straight points given up with almost no defensive pressure in a playoff elimination game. The Knicks were playing with way more urgency while the Sixers defense looked completely disconnected early. Was the effort level from the Sixers unacceptable in this game? 👀 🎥 Check out the full video reaction for the full breakdown of Knicks vs 76ers 🔥 👉 Sub for more NBA breakdowns 🔥 #nba #paulgeorge #knicks #76ers #nbashorts
