Blakely: Robert Williams "RETURNING Very Soon"
After another win over the Atlanta Hawks, the Boston Celtics and their relentless offense have racked up eight straight wins. The most absurd aspect of it all is the fact that Boston hasn't even fully realized their potential with Robert Williams still sidelined. According to A. Sherrod Blakely, however, that won't be for much longer. In a recent story, Blakely wrote: 'When Williams underwent successful surgery on September 23 to “remove loose bodies and address swelling" from his left knee, the best-case scenario was that he would be back to playing in eight weeks, or what we like to call Friday of this week against the New Orleans Pelicans. Williams is being coy about his return to the floor, other than to say that he and the medical staff are continuing to “check off the boxes” for things he needs to do in order to be cleared to play. But there’s no mistaking the excitement that he’s feeling now, well aware that he’ll be back on the floor sooner rather than later. “(Wednesday’s workout) felt good, felt great,” Williams told me during our one-on-one interview. “That’s why I’m smiling. We’re checking off all the boxes as I go through this, getting closer to getting back.” And today was indeed a good day as Williams described his on-court session work being the most game-simulation work he’s done since he began the rehab process.' Ben Simmons Breaks SILENCE Over Shaquille O’Neal SAGA.. Welcome back to Fighters Fury. Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons finally opened up on his struggles last season, as he went on The Old Man and Three Podcast. He gave insightful details about his entire situation, his mental health struggles, and what he wants to do going forward. He even called out NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal who has been highly critical of Simmons. The majority of the NBA Media have been on Simmons, but maybe Shaq and his crew have been the hardest. This all started after the Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA playoffs. And Simmons suffered an injury in the offseason. The Australian hooper was also dealing with mental health issues. Shaq has been really hard on Simmons. He was disappointed with Simmons for not playing to his full potential in the Hawks series. And then with him holding out with the Sixers. Furthermore, he criticized Simmons for not showing up to work. Then when it was reported that Simmons will return in the 2022 playoffs and he ended up not playing, Shaq again excoriated Simmons. Shaq even revealed that he had a talk with Simmons about his issue, especially since both of them went to LSU. But Simmons opened up on what actually happened in JJ Reddick’s podcast. In other words, the 26-year-old star called out Shaq for being dismissive of his personal struggles. Simmons called out the Lakers legend and Charles Barkley for their rhetoric on his personal issues. And he also concluded that they shouldn’t use their platform to support things like this. In related news, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal came to the league after dominating high school and college basketball. After three years in college, Shaq declared for the 1992 NBA draft. The Orlando Magic knew he would be a superstar and selected him as the first overall pick. O’Neal did not disappoint. In fact, he exceeded expectations in his first year in the league and everyone had to take notice. He won the Rookie of the Year award without much competition.
