San Jose Sharks News: Martin Jones Heating Up, Logan Couture Injury?
In my latest roundup of San Jose Sharks news and updates, I talk about a possible Logan Couture injury, Martin Jones' recent stellar play in net, and the possibilities of Patrick Marleau and Marcus Sorensen being traded. Let me know your impressions in the comments! The San Jose Sharks are coming off a two-game sweep of the Los Angeles Kings, clashing with the Arizona Coyotes over the weekend (back-to-back). Toward the end of the last Kings' game, captain Logan Couture took a hit from Jeff Carter and fell to the ice. The butt of Carter's stick accidentally popped Couture in the jaw/chin, but fortunately Logan skated off the ice with minimal assistance. Couture traveled with the club to Arizona and is a game-time decision. Additionally, Martin Jones has strung together four outstanding starts with the Sharks, helping the club to a 3-0-1 in those contests. The veteran goaltender has saved 142 out of 147 shots and has upped his SV to .902, the first time it's been over .900 in quite some time. Lastly, the Sharks will likely be sellers at the NHL Trade Deadline. A couple of names have surfaced recently, including Devan Dubnyk, Marcus Sorensen, and Patrick Marleau. Will Marleau break Gordie Howe's record in teal, or will he sport a different sweater? Trade rumors could certainly heat up over the next couple of weeks before the April 12 deadline! (Reaction) San Jose Sharks vs Anaheim Ducks: Games 9 & 10, 2021 NHL Season
The San Jose Sharks split a weekend series against the Anaheim Ducks, first winning 5-4 in a shootout, and then falling 2-1 in another shootout. What are your thoughts on the series? Let's hear about it in the comments! The Sharks got out to a 1-0 lead in Game 1. The Ducks stormed back in the 2nd with 3 goals, outshooting San Jose 13-3. However, Team Teal surged back with 3 goals in the third. After a second goal from Maxime Comtois, the two teams skated into overtime tied 4-4. Martin Jones was sensational in the shootout, and San Jose prevailed for the extra point. In the second game, the Sharks came out in a fury, with Logan Couture crashing the net and scoring just 11 seconds in. However, they struggled to consistently generate chances in the Ducks' zone and often found themselves hemmed in their own zone (from turnovers). Devan Dubnyk stood on his head, surrendering just one goal in the second period; the Sharks are now -13 in the 2nd period on the season. Once again, these two teams headed into overtime and then a shootout, but it was the Ducks who came out on top this time. Sharks vs Knights Game 7: Fan Flashback
I have witnessed countless incredible moments at live sporting events, but few of them hold a candle to Sharks vs Knights Game 7. In this "Fan Flashback" video, I take a stroll down memory lane to revisit one of the greatest playoff series in San Jose Sharks history -- and perhaps one of the greatest series we've seen in our lifetime. Although the 3-0 comeback in Game 7 was unprecedented, it was the Sharks' overall series comeback that deserves equal attention. The Vegas Golden Knights had seemingly buried Team Teal after outscoring them in Games 3 + 4 by a total of 11-3. But once the Sharks regrouped at home for Game 5, they found several ways to narrow the deficit -- and ultimately come out series victors.
