Ajax and Heracles players stood still for the first minute after kick-off, as part of an anti-racism protest across the Netherlands' top two divisions. The protests came after Excelsior player Ahmad Mendes Moreira was subject to racist abuse by Den Bosch supporters. A message reading 'Racism? Then we don't play football' was displayed on the screen at the Johan Cruyff Arena. With the scores still 0-0 in the 60th minute, Nuneaton Borough called upon an unlikely player to take a penalty in their Southern Premier Central clash with Stratford Town – step forward goalkeeper Tony Breeden. Subscribe to Guardian Football ► http://is.gd/GuardianFootball The unusual choice did not pay off, with Breeden hitting the penalty high and wide into the stands, smashing a light in the process. The miss did not prove too costly for Nuneaton, who won 2-0 thanks to a goal from defender Joel Kettle and a late penalty from Callum Powell, with Breeden standing at a safe distance at the other end of the pitch this time. Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka will not play against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday, but head coach Unai Emery refused to discuss the issue at his press conference, calling for "100%" focus on the match. Xhaka remonstrated with supporters as he was jeered leaving the pitch during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last Sunday. The midfielder cupped his ears, removed his shirt and batted away Emery's hand as he left the pitch, leaving his position as captain in doubt. The two strikes from the home side caught the Ehime goalkeeper Masahiro Okamoto off guard on Sunday. The goals were scored by Shun Nakamura and Tatushiro Sakamoto.
